I plugged it in and turned it on indoors and set it for 10' and my Chihuahuas and Pomeranian had fun chasing the ball across the living room and snatched the balls up. I'm working on them bringing them back to me and hope with a little training they will learn to drop the ball in the bin. The Hyper Fetch Mini doesn't come with instructions on how to train your pet to drop it in the machine themselves. Some of my dogs didn't care for the "new ball smell" but after we washed them, they were good to go. Today I took it outside and put a lawn chair next to it and set it on the 30 foot distance mode. They would come up to me and wait for me to drop the ball into the launcher after less than a hour of playing. There's a sensor that scans every 5 seconds to launch a ball. It has settings of 10', 20' and 30' range. It also runs off of 6 "C" batteries not just electricity. The 2 inch tennis balls are slightly big for my larger size Chihuahuas but do work. They're probably too large though for very small breeds in my opinion. Comes with 3 balls but extra can be ordered from AFP item #3198.
My dogs love this so much they sit and stare at it when it's put up. We have labs. The balls are on the smaller side,so can be a bit concerning, so they are never allowed to play without supervision. My 1 dog caught on rather quickly on putting the ball in the hole to get the ball to shoot out. Now he entertains himself, while I watch.
I have a Doberman and a Mini Aussie. My Doberman absolutely loves this! My Mini Aussie loves it too! Needless to say, I have to let them play one at a time! The All for Paws Automatic Ball Launcher seems well made and works like a charm! I will be purchasing some more of the recommended tennis balls. It does come with three, but my Doberman slobbers with his big mouth and I'm sure to need more! If you are looking for a great gift for your best friend, I highly recommend this! You'll have fun too!
I was a little skeptical about this item, but I believe I had as much fun as my Scooter, he's a pomeranian and he loved it, he figured it out in a hurry, he would listen and wait for the launch. This would be great for outdoor or indoor, it shoots the ball, 10, 20 and 30 feet. It works on battery and a/c power. Great product I would recommend this for hours of fun with your fur baby.
My dogs love this ball launcher from all for paws. I have a medium size dog that is about 17 pounds and a small dog that is about 7 pounds and they both love this machine. I have the Hyper Fetch Mini size which comes ready to go with three tennis balls. This was super simple to set up out of the box, I just plugged it in and placed the tennis balls into the machine and then I selected the range on which the machine would shoot the balls out. There are three different ranges on the back of the machine, you can choose, 10,20, or 30 feet once selected you place the ball in the top and once it senses it the machine shoots out the tennis ball. You can load more than one ball at a time, I put all three balls in and about every five seconds it shoots out another one. My dogs can't get enough as soon as they hear it revving up they start wagging there tails and go chasing after it , then they bring the ball back so that I can do it again. I would highly recommend this product if your dogs like to play catch, it is endless amount of fun for them. This is a great quality product that will stand the test of time.
The device is easy to set up and use. My dog loves it and she is learning to feed the balls herself. It's easy to switch the distance that the ball is thrown at the press of a button. The power cord is very short and battery life isn't very good so you would need to stock up on batteries or have a long extension cord for outdoor use.
This is a review for afp's (all for paws) interactives mini Hyperfetch automatic ball launcher machine. It comes with an adapter and three mini two inch tennis balls. The adapter is a great option for those who do not want to use batteries. It takes six batteries to run it. The adapter might need to be plugged into an extension cord to use. The adapter cord is too short to reach some flat surfaces. The three tennis balls are a fun size for dogs and cats alike. They should not be put in the launcher if too damp or soiled. This requires substantial effort unless used on a clean surface. Also, hope for pets with dry mouths. There are three distance options: three, six, and nine meters. Three meters works every time for indoor use. After placing the ball in the launcher, there is a five second delay. The sensor detects the ball and a high-pitched noise increases throughout the five second delay as it prepares for launch. This noise gets the attention of everything in the house. While some are curious, some are actually scared. It is the same for the launch itself. Some run for the ball, and some run from the ball. I do recommend afp's interactives mini Hyperfetch automatic ball launcher machine. It is easy enough to use so that makes it worth it for the pets that do enjoy it. The machine seems durable enough to last with proper use.
If you train your small/medium dog to fetch balls, and they bring them back and drop them in the launcher, they could play by themselves! It lobs the balls gently so it's great to use indoors. You can plug it in or use batteries. I can't really see how this is better than throwing balls by hand? If you lose the 3 balls, you have to replace them from this brand. They are smaller than normal tennis balls (I put one in the pictures to show size.)
All For Paws Interactive Automatic Ball Launcher is great product. It works just how described. The device is very well built and the concept is great. The hard part for me is training my puppy to use it. At first, my dog was afraid of the motor sound, it makes a bit of a whirring noise but after two days he got used to the sound. I started with training in increments; getting used to the sound, bring the ball back to me (next to the launcher), dropping the ball into my hands, and dropping the ball in himself (currently working on it). He does not yet feed the ball himself but I think he will learn over time. Something that I do not like about this product is the fuzzy balls. the balls become fuzzy after a few uses and within a few dozen throws. This makes my dog focus more on chewing and removing the fuzzy areas. I am going to look for some that size that are not covered in fuzzy stuff. Another issue that I have with this product is how to clean the inside after all the slobber is pushed past the gears.
I don't know if this was damaged during shipping or defective from the factory but it will not launch the balls. It makes the correct noise like it wants to shoot them but they won't come out even though I tried several times and had my son in law try as well. It's al,ost like the balls that came with it might be too big?
