I like this A/C unit. it runs quietly except on full power, but that is to be expected. It arrived in its box without damage. The only things that I like less (but don't "dislike" is the lights/functions on the control panel are small making me stand in front of it to see them with reading glasses on. Also the remote seems to have fewer features than the main control panel. But overall this is an excellent A/C unit. the price was reasonable and it was shipped promptly.
Because it's doing just what I need it to do
Its a great AC ! Really does the job! I love that you can barely hear that its turned on! Very satisfied with my window unit! Would highly recommend this
Awesome AC unit , easy to install and user friendly..
This AC cools off my kitchen and living room and my hall. Very good deal in my opinion !
The unit seems to work okay. It is quiet and chills very well. The overall experience was not good. The shipping was handled by FedEx Ground. They showed the unit as to be delivered on one day, then changed it to "Delayed" once the delivery window had passed. When it did arrive, it had been dumped on its side. Some of the interior foam was broken, there was a slight buckle in the back corner of the outer shell, and one of the brackets was bent badly (but not one that I needed). The security camera shows the delivery man carting the unit on it's side, ignoring the "this side up" arrows.
We've had Amana products before and they have all been great. In all honesty, we've not even had this one a month yet, but seems to be really quiet. Last one A/C we had, a Soleus, lasted a little over a year, before having to be replaced. I have a lot better hopes for this Amana.
DO NOT waste your money on this piece of junk!!! Have had it for less than 3 months and problems started after about 6 weeks. It isn't designed to allow rainwater to drain. Don't know what kind of problems it's causing internally, but it won't stay on and is really loud. Now I find out the 1 year warranty doesn't apply if this piece of crap is bought online unless it's installed by an Amana technician. NOT COOL, AMANA!!!
First off the instruction manual wasn't even for this model. I had to watch youtube videos to figure out how to install it. It blows cool air but it has a god-awful loud noise that I've never heard an air conditioner make. Go to the Amana website to register and every "serial number" I can find can't be registered because it doesn't match their web-form's look up and no information to find the actual number they want. No one answers their phones and sent an email after 5 tries because evidently spaces are considered foreign characters on their basic web-form on their site. It blows cool air, but don't expect to be able to talk to anyone in the house because this thing is so loud it drowns out any talking and the company won't respond to help requests and you can't even register it for their "warranty." If it wouldn't cost $300 to send back it would already be on a truck back to them!
I bought this unit walmart.com and once I got it unboxed I notice that it had oil all over the unit. It turned out the unit's compressor wasn't bolted down and was leaking compressor oil. I don't know how to whole production line missed that a compressor wasn't bolted down!
