I had a Ryzen 7 1700 in a MSI b350 Tomahawk. I updated the bios and installed the 3600 with no issues. The improvements over the first generation are large enough that even with 2 less cores i'm not losing any multithreded performance and gaining in single and lightly threaded.
I went do to my very first gaming rig and PC part picker said I should get my CPU from Walmart. I did not know that Walmart was in the parts business, but they had the best price. So I ordered it. The package arrived one day earlier than expected, but in the shelter in place days, that is not an issue. The CPU box was well protected and arrived undamaged. The CPU itself does great. I tend to play Destiny 2 and The Division and game play is very smooth. I have not overclocked it yet, but from what I have read, that should not be an issue.
Great processor no complaints. This processor paired with the B 450 Tomahawk Max does 3700 in Cinebench R 20 at stick settings.
AMD's new 6 core 12 thread CPU is a beast of a CPU and handles everything I throw at it with ease. Would recommend to get a better cooler as the one includes is good enough for gaming and everyday stuff unless if you want to overclock.
With 6 cores and 12 threads the ryzen 5 3600 is a great value CPUs. It is decent for gaming and great for productivity. It doesn't run hot or pull a lot of power. Very efficient and competent little chip. Make sure you pair it with a good memory kit, ideally 3600mhz C16 or better to get the most out of it.
I've had my eye on this CPU for quite a while, really since it was released. I'd wanted an upgrade for a secondary computer I have on my desk that had been running 10 year old hardware. After some recent power failures, the old hardware became unstable and I finally upgraded. I am very happy with my purchase. This CPU has 12 threads and is much faster than my old system. I'd say that for any moderate workload, it would suffice. Mainly, I use the computer for web browsing, watching videos, texting, email, VoIP clients and streaming. For all of this, it works beautifully. I never have robot voice or video stutter/lag when trying to do "too much" at once. My only complaint is that this CPU once sold for sub $200 prices and while I understand the global situation, I can't help but wish I had bought this back then rather than having to spend more now. If you're looking for a good CPU for gaming/streaming/general use that doesn't break the bank, this is it.
Solid processor. No nonsense. Saw in pass mark as best performer per dollar at this price, and Amazon was out of stock for several weeks. Shipped super fast. Its an amazing compute workhorse for an amazing price. Using it for a gaming PC. Pair with a good graphics card and you're golden.
Haven't turned it on yet due to slow delivery of RAM and Video card but it is the second of two new builds same system. A great processor for just about anything you want to do, it can hang with the higher priced processors other than the thread rippers. In comparison the 3600X is the same processor and almost in a dead heat when bench marked. It was a shame to see all the recommended graphics cards out of stock due to miners buying all of them. I already had one RX 570 8GB OC so I opted to go with the RX 580 for both of my new Ryzens.
delivers as promise this chip is a beast for the price. just make sure your mother board can handle it or can upgrade the bios. haven't had any problems temps with the cooler that comes with it
After ordering this, I found it less expensive elsewhere. I cancelled the order less than an hour after placing it. Walmart.com placed my order in a "cancel pending" state for three days, and then shipped it anyway. Great. now I have to return it. I started the return online and it told me to print the return slip and take it into a store. I did that. The customer service person had no idea how to return it. A supervisor was finally able to. I was refunded to my credit card the purchase amount, but not the tax. Ugh, I'm just done. Also, despite having returned the item and gotten a (partial) refund, my account still shows the item as "return pending". Walmart seems to be run by circus bears on little bicycles.
