The Ryzen 5 5600x, as of 7/30/21, the absolute best processor for the money. I couldn't be happier. Excellent for gaming and very good for productivity. The Ryzen 5000 series are all powerhouses and landmarks in CPU technology. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Please ignore all those 1 star reviews. At one point this product was being sold at twice its MSRP. While I think that is unacceptable, it is no longer happening. It is worth $300 and that is what I paid for it. Walmart was the only retailer with this product at the time of purchase and quickly got it shipped. I recommend buying this should it be in stock and they are selling it at its MSRP.

Like everyone else says, don't pay scalper prices. Be patient, watch online bots, and don't pay more than MSRP tax (if applicable). You don't have to rate a product 1 star because the sellers suck, though. I've been running my 5600X since right before Christmas, and it's a noticeable improvement from the i7 6700 I am running in an HP pre-built. Though the i7 does seem to idle down more (reducing energy consumption), the R5 boosts so easily even without using PBO, and is overall more efficient. I primarily mix and record music on my rigs, and sessions that would bottleneck on my i7 are putting my R5 at half load, enabling me to multitask proper. I'm only running with 2133mhz RAM currently, and it's still blazing fast. That, paired with PCIe 4.0 (working well with my B550 board and an RTX 3060Ti), I've got all the bandwidth I'll need for the next 5-7 years. This is definitely the chip you want for most workloads, and it scales well for workstation tasks, and is great for gaming too!

Great processor! What more can I say. Windows 10 picked it up and had everything working in seconds. Went from Gen 4 i7 and motherboard to the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and two quick reboots and I was ready to go. Performance is better than most all Intel processors at the moment. $300 is a good deal when comparing cost / performance.

installation was very easy. I was putting it in a Tomahawk B350 Motherboard so I had to do a BIOS update. I had a tuff time with that. Thankfully my 2 sons are more techi than I am. They helped me figure it out. Now I am getting 90 FPS on Helldivers 2 where before I was getting below 20 FPS

I've gotten good performance from this CPU. It's a fantastic value at the time I got it even though the AM4 platform is at its end. The only reason for this not being 5-star is that for whatever reason I dealt with my system restarting the moment I'd open any CPU-intensive application. Currently, I have not dealt with this issue again after changing a setting in my motherboard BIOS, but I don't know if it was the CPU or the motherboard BIOS configuration that was the issue. I would just make sure you update the BIOS and if you continue to deal with the issue, consult online support. If none of that gets you a solution, disable the CPU C-State control in your motherboard BIOS. Just be aware that this may raise your PSU wattage requirement slightly higher than you expect.

Great CPU, below average cooler comes with it. If you're planning on using it for medium to short gaming sessions (.5-2 hrs) then you should be just fine, but if you're doing heavier CPU work, you'll want a better cooler, but for most people, it will be just fine.
