This cable works well. Did have to learn to put phone on never turn off screen before watching something. The only thing is last 2 minutes of show we are watching never works. Not sure if it's the app or the cable. I have to discount cable and close app. Then restart the app to see last 2 minutes from my phone. But over all the cable works. Haven't tried a movie yet but it should work.
Of course this little adapter is pricey but worth it over the cheaper versions. It works well and haven't had any issues:
This is the third apple lightning to hdmi dock that I have purchased. They are great for connecting the iPhone to tv without having to screen mirror. The only issue is that the cord always becomes worn out over time. Have to insert and taken out and insert once it's worn and then it will work for a while longer. But after so long it just needs to be replaced. It is much better than any of the other docks that I have used that are not made by apple. The others always require that you download an app or subscription that always takes extra time and effort to install and troubleshoot. With the apple dock you just insert it into your iPhone or iPad and you are good to go. They just need to be replaced once the cord has been twisted over and over again. Every 3 or 4 years I have to replace it.
This does not let you stream your paid services like Netflix from your phone to your TV. It's only for nonpaid services like YouTube. I even own and have downloaded movies to my phone through movies and more and I'm not able to even play the ones I own. I have a generic that does the exact same thing and I bought this one because you're supposed to be able to stream paid services through it but it's just as trashy as the generic one.
After about 2 week of use the product would no longer provide signal or picture without constantly having to adjust position of lighting cable to iPhone
It did not work with Disney and it did an Ok job. I am glad I had bought it on sale. I don't use it often. I have to place it a certain way or it won't connect so half the time it doesn't work but when it does work it does a fine job. It's frustrating getting it to work. Maybe I received a faulty one. If it worked I would be using it a lot.
Flaky connections.most of the time there's no audio onTV. Then I get no video. Restarting everything is hit or miss to make it work. I went with genuine Apple to assure compatibility but this thing is very poor and unreliable to connect my iPhone and iPad to TV.
Does not do what anybody who would get this, would get it for. Just simply won't play any of my streaming apps through my TV using my phone. Just get a smart TV or watch it on your phone because you will not be able to plug your phone into your TV and watch things from your phone on your TV with this.
It doesn't work. The iPhone didn't recognize it. I had recently bought the official product from Apple that was highly discounted (which worked) and thought this was the same product. It was not and, while it does pass through power through the lightning port, it is not recognized by the iPhone as an HDMI adapter and is essentially worthless.
This was supposed to be hdcp compliant so I could use my iPhone to play Netflix, prime, etc on my TV. It is not.
