I looked into dozens of different beginner level aquariums at dozens of different stores. this is the best one I could find. it has everything to start a new aquarium except for the gravel and plants. I've had mine running for a week now and it works great!
I am so happy that my little Betta, Mister Bubbles has adjusted to his new home. After I put in the plants and rocks he went in and experienced culture shock in a major way! The textures and colors scared him, there was no place for him to swim away to. He went to the top and my poor little blue guy was PALE!! I talked to him and soothed him, and let him be and he has adjusted BIG TIME!! He peruses the perfect gallon tank like he is driving a 1967 Corvette under the Ocean!! I am happy with this purchase, and highly recommend it for your Betta or other small fish. The filter is great and provides him the bubbles he needs to keep him alive, and the light helps him to see in his wonderful new digs. I turn the light off at night so he can sleep.
This was purchased for my 2 yr son by his grandma, it currently houses a Betta, my son loves turning off and on the lights and watching the colors change, the light does go through batteries quite quickly if the lights are left one all day, I try and keep the lights of for about 2 hrs a day in the evening to make the batteries last longer. There is a connection for an adapter, I just need to find one. I don't know how long the little light will last as it does get exposed to the water from the air stone. We have mother of pearl gravel also from Walmart, 2 Betta plants, and Palm tree decoration, not much room for anything else but it is a nice set-up. Our Betta doesn't seem to mind the air stone and the current from it, and the pump is quiet for a $10 aquarium set. It takes about 10 min to do a water change, once every 2 weeks, overall we are happy with this little tank, well worth the money, and it's resident is quite happy as well.
this is a small tank and fits perfect on top of our low bookshelf. We have one fish, a gift. It would be perfect for maybe up to four or five small fish about the size of neon's. We've had it for nearly two weeks and the water is still crystal clear. The last tank we had to be cleaned weekly...uggg. We are very pleased with this tank and highly recommend it.
Love these! Both my betta fish love them and price is undeniably amazing. A tank with a filter and food for under $15, mind blowing. I live in California, and they stay warm enough to keep my heaters unplugged during the summer. The only downside is that the lights take AAA batteries instead of AA so they dont last they long (3 days tops, while turning them off at night) and the multiple color options is nice, although my bettas get aggressive under any color except red or white. The slit in the front is perfect is feeding, my fish come up to it every morning when it’s feeding time
I bought this for my desk at work and it is PERFECT. The size is great, it was fairly easy to set up and my betta fish really likes it! The only thing... make sure you have back up light bulbs for the tank, my light went out in 8 days.. mind you I don't turn it off since my office gets dark at night and I don't want him to be in the dark. I have recommended it to another office buddy and he got his and likes his equally as much! You can see inside from all angles which is really nice and the water flow is very peaceful sounding! I would recommend to a friend.
I like how this came as a set with a light, bubbler, and lid! My first one came cracked but I didn't realize it until I had the fish already in their new home. Since I live overseas, I wasn't sure how the return/replacement situation would work. After communicating back and forth with Walmart, they ended up just shipping me a new one, which arrived quickly! It is just basic and empty, which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Looks cute and a perfect home for my fish after I added a few rocks and plants!
This was perfect for my Jr. High daughter to see if she wanted to take responsibility for an aquarium. We purchased a Betta for her and it seems pretty happy so far.
All that it claims to be, but you will definitely need to add a mini-heater. They are only a few dollars, but complete the ensemble. This product is reliable, is attractive, and works well. Enjoy. m.
For $10, I'm satisfied with the purchase. The picture led me to believe the aquarium was square, but when in fact it's a triangle. There's also no gravel or plastic plants included. Maybe that's noted on the description or box that I overlooked? There's also no food. Really what you get with this starter kit aquarium is the plastic aquarium, hood with light, and pump. The pump stays very warm and is a little noisy, especially if sitting on something hard. The pump is not heavy enough to stop vibrations. All in all, my daughter (4yo) likes it. But as soon as we unboxed, we were planning for an upgrade. This tank will get by for now
