Tetra Whisper Internal Power Filter for Aquariums 1 to 4 Gallons

it's just perfect for a small little tank. read some stories about pumps killing fish that get trapped on intake holes but my fish has been just fine for about a month now. the intake suction is small and on bottom as well.

This fabulous filter, comes with one filter cartridge. Water flows beautifully in a small tank, mine was a three gallon. keeps water clear. Very nice ,not bulky, thin ,fits nicely over the back of aquarium with the main filter internal.plug in cord is a nice length . Great for a fish tank. i have guppies , a catfish and a large snail.ThanksTetra Wisper, price was very good as well.

It was easy to install and virtually no sound but it only lasted four months before the motor gave out. Just an fyi

If I could give this negative five I would . There is a serous design flaw ! I woke up this morning to a dead frog as it was suctioned to the bottom where the water goes in . It was awful . Poor guy was missing an arm and had huge suction welts . Be ware !!!!

This filter sucked my fish into the bottom of the unit, killing my fish. bad design. it is rated for 1-4 gallon tanks but any fish suitable for a tank this size is susceptible to the same fate because there is no safeguard preventing them from being sucked into the bottom of tbe filter. other brands of filters this size have saftey features that would prevent such an accident. do not buy thid filter unless you are willing to take this risk.

Do not recommend product! Had the filter for 2 weeks, and my daughter's African dwarf frog was sucked up into the bottom of the filter. Its poor little legs were mangled and she died from her injuries. DO NOT BUY for tank with small aquatic animals, poor thing suffered. And left my daughter heartbroken…

SUPER SUPER disappointed. I always thought of Tetra as a trusted name. NOT Anymore. I will never ever purchase their products. This item, the Whisper filter sucked my Beta into the intake and tore off his tail, and then chewed up his other fins. I found out that this is NOT UNCOMMON an occurrence. Of course I found out after it almost killed Betty. I highly recommend you NOT BUY it. Instead, look into getting a sponge type filter. They have a more gentile yet very effective bio filter system that also provides oxygen and truly cleans the water. Just look at the before and after pictures of my fish if you don't believe me, AND the picture of the tail that I pulled out of the filter.
