Definitely not what i expected. The movie setting was so Dark you could barely see it even after adjusting TV settings. Story line was ok but the creatures moved so fast you no idea what was going on. overall I wouldn't recommend wasting your time.

Not Cage's best - but a unique story. A bit "out there" for my taste. Special effects were up to par.

The movie was not interesting

(Spoilers) Well, I haven't seen a movie this bad in a while. The quality was good, but the director needs to learn to work a little more with the exposure on the camera (that, or the editor needs to be fired). I get if "dark" is your style, but when the movie is so dark that you can barely see anything for half the movie, then it's TOO DARK! I think the biggest thing that aggravated me was the monsters... it never said what happened, it never said what they were originally, and - I don't care how much pollution and radiation there was - no amount of mutation could turn any creature on this planet into THAT. Frankly, the monsters would've been scarier and creepier if they weren't so stupid. It was poorly written, in my opinion, by a dark and disturbed mind that's obsessed with everything gory and creepy. I think the rave reviews were from people who wanted to appear cultured. The actors did an excellent job, though! And, if you like dystopian meets horror meets Alien, and you don't need stories to make sense or make you think about how to overcome impossible problems (like World War Z did), just nothing but horror with no resolution and no real STORY, then you'll probably like this movie just fine.

Just another new type Nicolas Cage movie. Not a horror film at all; a family storyline.
