Arm And Hammer Advance White Toothpaste, Fresh Mint, 4.3 Oz

After experiencing abnormal issues with my mouth and lips for a couple of weeks now, I finally thought to look into the possibility that it might be caused by my toothpaste, Arm and Hammer Advance White. I wasn't expecting to find any links because I've used Arm and Hammer toothpastes for years without any problems. After reading multiple reviews reporting the exact same issues as I was experiencing, I was actually relieved. I had been very concerned up until now that something was seriously wrong with me! My symptoms were dry, cracked and peeling lips, sores in the corner of my mouth, dry mouth and an overall strange feeling inside my mouth after brushing. I am sad to say that I'm discontinuing using this product immediately.

I unfortunately had an allergic reaction, can barely open mouth for a week now because of how badly my lips reacted to this product. I noticed it would sting my lips everytime I brushed but I loved how my teeth felt. Then I woke up with inflamed lips that soon turned to sore corners of my mouth which I'm scared will scar. if possible would like a refund

Last weekend on May 9th I used my husband's arm and hammer toothpaste and used it again May 10 along with chap stick. I noticed the morning of May 10th, when I woke up my lips were a little red and they were swollen. I thought it was one of my chapsticks low and behold I used my husband's arm and hammer toothpaste again this morning and my lips were getting the same allergic reaction they got last weekend. I'm glad I figured it out and now I know not to use this toothpaste again.

Wow! I thought i was the only one! It burned the inside of my lips I had to immediately rinse my mouth! Now I have a painful sore on the corner of my lips! Im putting Vaseline on my lips to help it heal. Its extremely uncomfortable. I read im not the only one. Sorry to hear others are expecting the same as me. Definitely not going yo use again. I thought I was just being sensitive and I needed to toughen up so ive used it every night nut I have to use a mouth wash after because the after tast is so bad... in mornings I use a different toothpaste it does not burn my mouth. I hope this review helps others thinking they are the only one experiencing burns.... also for the MFG to adjust the chemicals.

I used this toothpaste a few times and made my teeth nice and white and clean. But shortly after brushing my teeth last night, my lips started swelling and burning, and I noticed sores in my mouth and on my tongue. I rinsed my face and mouth well, and this morning I noticed that the roof of my mouth was tender and burned. Definitely this toothpaste. Will not use again.

I've been a big fan of Arm & Hammer toothpaste ever since I met my wife 30 years ago; I loved the idea of baking soda as an ingredient. However I'm not happy with the Extreme Whitening formula - which sent me to hospital this past weekend. I woke up at the cottage at 4:30 am with a terrible feeling in my mouth. It was inflamed and I felt like I could not breathe right. I drove to the local rural hospital and I got seen right away. The doctor saw that my tongue, gums and inner cheeks were very irritated and he put it down as an allergic reaction. I thought it was something I ate the day before, but when I got home I remembered the last thing I did before I went to bed was use A&M Extreme Whitening toothpaste, which my wife kept at the cottage (I use A&M Complete Care at home). I'm certain that the Extreme toothpaste inflamed the inside of my mouth because it was everywhere toothpaste goes when you brush, including under my tongue which was very painful. The swelling went down after a day, but I am very weary of this product. There is a caution on the tube, but it needs to be emphasized! It is packaged like it is ordinary toothpaste you can use daily but that's not the case. NOTE: Use with the supervision of a dentist.

I was influenced to buy this by someone who said it really worked to whiten teeth. I had no issues for the first few weeks, other than the unappealing salty taste. Then I woke up one morning with swollen lips. I didn't realize it was caused by the toothpaste so I continued using for a few days while trying to figure out what was happening. By this point I had lacerations on the inside of my lips and mouth and my tongue was inflamed. I was doing research on products I was using and found the reviews of this toothpaste. I switched and my condition improved greatly within 3 days. I would caution anyone against using this. It's far too abrasive on soft tissue. I am so relieved I figured out before it did lasting damage.

Arm & Hammer, Advance White I experienced an allergic reaction swollen lips, gums, face, tongue and throat. Unsure which ingredient causes it, but I am required to be seen by a doctor. If no allergic reactions I believe this would have been a good choice as I could see my teeth were whiting.

When I first started using it, after several months, I would notice my gums would feel irritated. I would stop using it for a few weeks then go back to it. Same thing would happen after a while. Last year I started using it again and noticed my lips starting peeling. I stopped using it and the peeling went away. I thought it odd. I'm a dental hygienist and love and recommend it all the time. I tried again a few months later and the peeling started again so I discontinued it. A couple of months ago, I was travelling and it was the only toothpaste in my overnight bag so I used it. Immediately, my tongue began to swell and I developed severe burn like reactions on my tongue and in the mandibular vestibules and all over my cheeks. I was in so much pain, couldn't eat, drink, talk. I had no way of getting an RX for a topical steroid until I got back home so I made a concoction of maalox, lidocaine gel, and benedryl liquid (magic mouthwash). So disappointed and wonder what it is about this combo of ingredients that could've caused such a horrible reaction. So much pain, Chat GPT told me not to get on the plane to fly home for fear that it was anaphylaxis.
