I bought this USB Bluetooth adapter for a desktop that lacked onboard Bluetooth, and it exceeded expectations. Installation on Linux was effortless—plugged it in and it was ready to go immediately. I've tested several headsets and everything pairs quickly, stays connected, and delivers clean audio. The range is surprisingly strong too; I can move around my space without dropouts. If you need Bluetooth on a Linux desktop, this is a fantastic solution.
WiFi chip has Bluetooth and wasn't working so I bought this, plugged it in and it worked right away. There's no lag when playing games with a controller on pc. For my windows 10 computer I didn't have to download any drivers either it was read perfectly and instantly
Plugged it in and it was ready. I registered it with ASUS for warranty even though its cost doesn't really warrant a need. I then updated the pc's drivers with the Asus Drivers and while I probably do not really see a change I feel like it improved.
I have a 2014 Asus Rog laptop that is still running great. Tried connecting Galaxy Pro Earbuds but they wouldn't work. I'm guessing the laptop's Bluetooth was too primitive to work. I searched and found this USB device that had current and backward compatibility for Bluetooth. Plugged it in, and with some help from my wife, got it working. Soud quality is as good as my Android phone and am very happy about this purchase!
It worked right off the bat. Nothing needed other than plugging the device into a USB port and connecting my headphones to my home computer.
Range is pretty good, installed without much issue, but I just wish it didn't show up as a new sound device inside of Windows. I have audio routed in through the PC's Line-In jack and near as I can tell there's no easy way to get that piped into the bluetooth, because the bluetooth dongle acts as its own sound device separate from the one inside of Windows. I'd have to install software to route that through.
Since I was able to get online and get the updated drivers for my ASUS Bluetooth 5.0 USB-BT500, my Bluetooth speakers are working fine!! I give ASUS a thumbs up for providing me the ability to keep my ASUS device. Before that I purchased a Bluetooth 6.0 USB-BT600, which I won't need anymore!!
I bought this adapter because it is Linux compatible. It is, but you could make it a bit easier for those of us who have a Linux computer, but are not Linux experts. I did finally got it to pair with my headsets. I can now get it to connect with my phone and tablet, but not actually pair with the latter two. Anyway, now that it works well enough, I am quite happy with it.
So after a year & a half later it still works but the range is now very very limited.. althoe during the year it was not bad yet not great either, im not disappointed but I have to buy a better one in a little but I was planning on getting a bluetooth/wifi usb. Thoe for the budget price it lasted alot long then I expected I would recommend this item to anyone with a broken bluetooth or no bluetooth installed on there device
this item turns off a lot have to unplug it then put back in also very short range not even half way avross a small room with nothing blocking it
