Awesome, works like described
So bought this on a whim from Walmart, I owned an Atari VCS back in the day, and I'm not disappointed. It was easy to setup, comes with a shortish HDMI Cable and it was very small and light weight so I can put it anywhere. The issues I had are: 1) The wireless joysticks don't pair easily, if you follow the instructions, it does not make sense. I recommend just turn on the slide switch, let the blue LED light up, and let them pair automatically. 2) Sometimes the wireless joysticks will get stuck sending commands the console. For instance, i'm navigating the main menu, or in a game, and the selection box or the thing in the game I'm controlling seems to go crazy, and go continually in one direction or something like that. The fix is easy though, I just turn off the controller with the slide switch and turn it back on and it instantly fixes it. Fortunately this only happens maybe once during a 3 or 4 hour playing session. I don't think it's a proximity issue, since I'm always about 5 feet away from the console with line of site. I think it's a firmware issue. 3) Some classics are not in here. Noticeably missing is Bezerk and Pac-Man. 4) Joysticks feel cheap, very light and I'm not sure if they are as good or durable as the originals. My wife and I play and so far we've used the joysticks for about 25 hours each, so, so far so good. I like this thing, now hoping they make paddles to go with it for breakout and warloards. Thanks!
Always loved the game. Has so many different games to play and will keep your excitement going for a long time. When you start you don't want to stop. Love it
Great little quirky unit, spirit of retro gaming. Has been awesome way to introduce my kids (7
I could not get the joy sticks to work
Had to return it, controllers didn't work. Disappointed, was looking forward to playing the old games. Don't know if I'll get another.
My husband wanted this one to enjoy with the kids. I guess these differ by brand but these are not 'hit' games on this device. The box is weighted down with packaging for a device that is visually cute. The side buttons on joystick 1 needs to be pressed with the force of a god. No gamer would recommend this and I grew up with these consoles, too old to press the buttons and the number 2 joystick sticks. This means the Track and Field runner can't run with two small kids trying to play. It has very few Activision games, no Tennis. Some of these 120 games seem to be copies. I could go on and on... I found Pitfall and Combat, trying to give this gift a chance, but the joysticks are terrible and that's after moving within 3ft and checking batteries. I grew up with Coleco and Atari and still own cartridges in my attic with the Nintendos and Segas. You guys are wrong for not checking this one. It does have Frogger, but its filled with other games like Frog Pond. Most of the games are the historically unpopular ones and no internet connectivity to change this. It has a large SD slot, but the world uses micro for the last 15 years at least.
This is a very cheaply made product. I returned immediately.
Bought it today. No sound only 1 controller works, very glitchy. Horrible waste of money. Will be returning. Do not recommend.
I would not waste my money on this all excited to play and the controllers don't work very flimsy not work the money and the games are not what they say very poor
