actually its pretty accurate...if you put it in your frt pants pocket make sure its facing forward with clip facing dow....we did find that to work best ..one bad feature is as soon as you pick it up..its on...no off switch...it goes off on its own
The Athletic Works Step %26 Distance Pedometer is so simple %26 easy to use! Though it doesn't have all the "bells %26 whistles" of other models, I love the fact that it's easy to set up and works great! It also has a built-in clip, which can easily hook onto clothing. Just a note --to wear the non-clipped side closest to your skin.
Good looks. Good price. SIMPLE TO USE. It counts STEPS and DISTANCE ONLY. I had one of those supposedly " high end pedometers", an (Omron HJ-321-E) pedometer. It did EVERYTHING. Count (steps, calories, distance in KM or miles, Areobic steps, 24 hr clock, 7 day memory, and AUTOMATIC RESET every night at midnight). I was never happy with it. I couldn't/didn't trust it. It simply (counted too much movement). It even (counted movement while you drive your car, RIDICULOUS). So I went looking for another pedometer. I was actually thinking about buying another so called "high end pedometer" a different brand, not Omron. I found reviews on YouTube about this one, (Athletic Works pedometer). Athletic Works is a Wal-Mart brand. The reviews were positive, so I came here to Wal-Mart.com and read further reviews. The PRICE was GREAT, ONLY $12.00. I ORDERED me one. It was here the NEXT DAY. SET UP WAS a BREEZE. You only need to input your (stride length by your height. Only ONE BUTTON TO OPERATE IT. All you do is PRESS, or PRESS and HOLD for TWO SECONDS to cycle through the screens. I have clipped it on to my pocket watch pants pocket, and walked with it. As I walked I COUNTED MY STEPS IN MY HEAD, and when I stopped. I would look at it/ CHECK IT. IT'S EXTREMELY ACCURATE. To THREE STEPS. And I've driven with it clipped on my front pants pocket or in my front pants pocket. And GUESS WHAT? To my surprise IT DOES NOT COUNT VEHICLE MOTION MOVEMENT!!! It COUNTS STEPS ONLY!!! I'm loving this pedometer. (DO YOURSELF a FAVOR). DONT BUY one of those so called more expensive "high end pedometers" and make a mistake like I did. Just get yourself this one at Wal-Mart, the (Athletic Works pedometer). STEPS and DISTANCE ONLY. I LOVE IT!!!
Depending on what you wanted the pedometer for its descent. It did not count the steps when using the under-desk elliptical. It did seem to count those when walking around which is nice because I do not like my phone with me all the time. It is easy to use, light weight and the display is easy to read.
This pedometer is easy to use and has a simple set up. It has two modes that counts steps and distance. Just clip it on your clothes or put it in your pocket and start walking.
I didn't like that it didn't count your first 10 steps and it wasn't very sensitive to walking around the house. You would literally have to stride down a long hallway for it to count your steps.
You are required to open the back to install battery. There is a micro tiny Philips head screw you are required to remove. very difficult to find such a tool. when I finally did the tool didn't work. screw was so tight it would not budge. I thought it was going to break if any more pressure was placed on it to hold it still while trying to turn the screw. Sent it back for a refund.
I like that it is small with basic functions. From the first day, however, the numbers were hard to read and were only visible if one held the device at a certain angle. In just over a week, only 2 or 3 digits would display. The device is not functional.
It never worked. It would not count correctly. My sister bought one and it worked, but for some reason mine just would not work and I had to replace it.
I thought this would be simple to use. It's not. It doesn't work. I will need to return it. Too many instructions and then it didn't work anyway. Not worth it.
