Replaced a rubber button type as it was digging into the lower unit. This one is lighter and fits the same looks like it will be less damaging. Easy to install, came withe rubber retention strap and a bracket if you wanted to permanently attach it to your trailer.

I have electric trim and a built in transom saver that stops the motor from bouncing but it stills allow my motor to turn while driving. I purchased this one to stop the turning motion. It works good. I had to drill my own hole so both transom savers were the same length. Happy so far, nice and strong

It is not as heavy duty as the one I lost, but appears to be adequate for its intended use. Only issue was the bolt to attach clip to the trail or was not long enough. Easily corrected.

Not as good as I expected. The top is kind of a hard plastic where I expected a softer rubber. I expect it will not last long and it has the potential of damaging the motor. I searched the web for more information on this "saver" before I purchased it, and the descriptions I found said it was spring loaded (like a shock absorber) which is what I wanted. This one does NOT have a spring. I was searching specifically for "spring loaded transom saver" and this one popped up in multiple links. If, like me, you don't have a roller on the back of the trailer, you have to use the other bracket which only has one 1/4" bolt which was too short to go thru the trailer frame. I had to buy a longer rustproof bolt and hope that the single 1/4" bolt is going to be strong enough in the years to come. In my opinion, this transom saver is not worth the cost and I will probably be replacing it in the very near future.

Well the products reviews were originally the reason I ordered it for my brother's boat. Of course ordering and shipment went great but I was informed of an important clip missing. Now the convenience of online ordering was not to my benefit or his. I am able to return it as I am the one whom purchased it so hopefully he can since it was mailed to him.

The aluminum strut was not strong enough to support my 40 HP motor and buckled. I was able to repair it with a piece of steel angle bracket. Not what I expected. Don't know what size motor this thing is supposed to be for, but my motor isn't all that big or heavy. If you have a really light motor--you probably don't need one of these anyway. Save your money and buy a different one.
