I throw about 3 20oz bowels of this and other seed by the same company for a variety of wild yard visitor birds. Quail, Mourning Doves , Curved Bill Thrashers and Sparrow's is mainly what comes by. I wish I had some Cardinals but none yet. Anyway they love this stuff and I love the vitamin pellet in the mix cause I want healthy birds around us and just want all birds to be healthy and happy. The price of this stuff isn't too bad either. I highly recommend this Companies products for birdies !!
I don't usually feed the wild birds, but with a sudden and unusual snow storm estimated at 2' and below 0°F temps coming, I thought it best to help the birds a bit. I scattered a bunch in areas in shallow and no snow areas and the birds loved it and my pets enjoyed the entertainment. I'm spreading the rest of it away from the house since as the snow melts, the chickens are out and love it too of course.
Our birds in the backyard love this bird food we get to see a lot of different birds with this new bird food
When I first put out the birdseed, it took a while for the birds to start noticing it. But from what I've seen, it does attract female Cardinals. I haven't had the opportunity to see a male cardinal yet, but I'm still waiting.
Bag is small. Not a lot in it. I used one whole bad for a very small feeder. Quality is ok, not great.
I love purchasing my bird food from Walmart due to ease and availability. This package, however, was covered in what looked/smelled like tar and was filled with mold. The bag itself wasn't punctured and was completely sealed so I'm assuming the mold occurred during packaging. The bag itself is small so for the price, the mold was a complete bummer because now it's useless. Will return to the brand I was purchasing prior to trying this one out.
Bought this one other time and I thought it was a good blend and really liked that it had the suet pellets in there. This time I bought it, there was hardly any of the suet pellets inside. You had to really look to find them. Its pretty pricey so I probably wont buy again.
Seed looks good but the bag is very small. A lot of the seed poured out of my feeder. I doubt I would buy it again.
It came to me covered in some sort of oil. The ink to the packaging was even coming off. Birds won't touch it at all! I have others to compare it to as well. It has gone completely untouched for almost 2 weeks..
This product had been on the shelf too long and was thoroughly infested with webs of mites or some sort of insect.
