This machine is a large capacity and takes up a bit of space. The blades must be oiled for lubrication according to the instructions for use guide. This unit will last a very long time if maintained properly. I am happy I purchased this unit because i feel more comfortable using this instead of throwing my discarded documents (tax records, bank information, credit card statements, etc.) in the trash can. I recommend this product.
Great shredder. Looks great and performs very well. Only small negative is that the slot for a 8 1/2 inch wide paper is tight on the sides, but it seems to fold/pull the sheet towards the center anyway if misaligned.
Quiet machine. Attractive styling. Handles paper without problem. Pleased with my purchase so far. Item arrived as scheduled with negligible shipping damage to the box.
High quality product. I like how small it shreds the paper. It handled high volume of material in one sitting.
This is a replacement for a smaller cheaper Aurora shredder, and it's much better. It's bigger/taller than it looks, its much quieter, the wheels are nice, the bucket is easier to empty versus the ones where the shredder head sits on top of the bucket, it shreds entire envelopes (like unwanted credit card offers received in the mail), the shredded paper size is tiny, and white looks good. So far, it has not overheated or jammed, but because it's not a heavy-use business model, I take care to not stress it out by only using it in spurts for big jobs and not over-stuffing it. (Note: My smaller black Aurora lasted for years, but it overheated fairly quickly and jammed easier). I'm glad I spent the extra money and bought the better model.
For the price, this is absolutely what I needed. It's robust enough for all of our needs. it finally chops and cuts everything down. I really enjoyed the oil sheets that come prepackaged as a sample. I will be buying these as well, what a great invention.
Wanted a micro shredder. After doing some comparisons and reading customer reviews, decided on this model. Very pleased with this purchase.
I like this product. I am very unhappy with Walmart customer service. Product was late. Purchased a diff product, then I recvd Walmart product. Walmart rep told me to keep their product as it was their error I did not receive in time. Was told I would not be charged. That is exactly what Walmart told me. Now Walmart is charging me AFTER I gave the product to someone else who could use it. I'll never purchase from Walmart again. Beware bad information and they do not stand by what the reps tell people.
One more thing I wanted to tell you: I paid $15.00 for the Allstate Protection Plan through Walmart for 2 years. But that is practically useless because when I received the shredder I saw that the Allstate plan begins the day I ordered the shredder -- NOT when the original Warranty runs out. The original Warranty is 5 years for defects of workmanship and material and 1 year warranty for defects of all other parts. So this 2 year plan I bought is not needed and would only cover the 2nd year anyway because the Aurora Original Warranty would cover the 1st year. Shredders typically don't last more than 2 years anyway. Well, we will see how good this Aurora brand is because we have tried about every other brand of Shredder there is. I would like this Shredder so far if it weren't for the very bad design on the top of the printer which is so small, it can't even be read with a magnifying glass.
I really don't know how it works. I stopped unpackaging it when I realized it came to me used. It had black marks on the top and when opened, it had shredded paper already in it. I purchased it as new.
