Don't wait until you are severly constipated. I'm not sure they will help much at that point. These work great for occasional constipation. They work within 15 to 60 minutes by drawing water into the stool to soften it, lubricating the lower bowel, and mildly irritating the rectal lining to trigger muscle contractions. My understanding is they pull fluid into the lower bowel through an osmotic effect. They softens stool by turning hard, dry waste into a softer mass. They lubricate by coating the area to make passing waste easier. And they stimulate the muscles by gently prompting the rectal walls to contract and push the stool out. My experience is these do just that!

Great for relief of constipation in a few minutes. i use these for my elderly dog too. i just break off the tip for him.

this container is massive. About the size of a large jar of salsa, barely fit in the medicine cabinet. Otherwise great!

This arrived with the top off although the safety seal was still in place. The container was collapsed so that the cover was difficult to screw back on. It would be a fight any time I would open it so I'm returning it.
