Awesome! Love this stuff! Not a fan of the heavier garden potting soil unless necessary for the nutrients, this stuff is so much lighter and better for drainage too. I put it in a large plastic tote, add water slowly and use a garden shovel to scrape off, then add water to the dry underneath and so on… when I'm done, I just put the lid on the tote and it's ready for next time. The larger size bricks are a great value and also make it so easy to have the amount needed when I need it. I do very little in ground planting so I use a good bit of it with container planting. It has been good for all my veggies - tomatoes, cucumber, strawberries, potatoes okra and more tomatoes lol! I do my own potting mix with this, peat moss, perlite, a tiny bit of vermiculite and compost…adding in any specific additional amendments depending on what is getting planted. It's great!

Love this Coir.

Doris May 15, 2026

Easy to hydrate in a large container. Once done I mixed the Coir one part to 2 parts soil mix for my new beds. For my raised beds (4X4) I put a whole block right on the top, hydrated it with a very slow drip and then mixed it in. I was having a problem with my raised beds repelling water instead of taking it in and this fixed the problem.

You have to get a big container to soak this coir in order to use it. I had a five gallon bucket. It took some work to break the compressed coir into smaller chunks to get into the bucket in order to soak. After that, it's easy to add to clay soil for your garden.

Great for Moisture Retention

upstateNYcamper June 28, 2026

This year, I made customized soil for each plant type and put all my plants in grow bags. I used a LOT of coir, which holds the moisture. This was easy enough to use. And my plants are doing GREAT!

Every thing is thriving since I set up my planter 5weeks ago. This product provided 50% volume with 25% topsoil 25%peat. I hope by next year I can mix it with compost.

not enough bang for the $

Bananaman May 28, 2025

Disappointed indeed. For the steep price it only expanded to the size of a 2cu ft bag of soil. I use organic potting mix and purchase it for under $ 10.00 for 2cu ft. So you do the math. I believe the big Organic label on the cube is what I paid for. Buyers remorse for sure.

Some bricks are not 10 pounds

Reed April 27, 2026

I don't know what is wrong with these people, but if you are selling a 10 pound brick, then make it 10 pounds! I ordered a replacement for one that is 7 pounds, and received one that is 8 pounds. The product itself is good, but this one aspect is ridiculous.
