[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so in love with this product! Im really picky about my survival food, most of them I don't like, but this is the best brand I have ever tried! I will be purchasing these in bulk in the very near future to add to our camping and survival gear.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a big fan of Backpacker's pantry in general and this flavor is one of my favorites. These dehydrated meals are super easy to make. Just add water and wait a few minutes. We love taking these on camping trips which is so convenient and easy and we know we're still getting a healthy meal to fuel our long days at the river. The risotto is perfectly cooked and the chicken is moist and delicious. We will definitely continue purchasing this brand in the future.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I got a camping gift basket for our 10 yr wedding anniversary. We decided to make steaks for dinner last night, and what a fantastic side dish. It only takes 15 mins to cook inside the bag, making it easy when you are out camping/hiking for the weekend. No extra pots or pans are needed, just boiling water and a measuring cup. The taste is fantastic; I thought for sure it would not taste good because, in the past, I had some pretty bad ones. But not this brand. This brand is delicious with spices and veggies. We can't wait to get more when spring and summer come around here in our state.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought this package would taste gritty and non flavorful like most package foods that you can keep in your pa try for a sentry but I was wrong. It is quite tastes and super simple to cook and does t take long at all. I would like to try the other flavors.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Backpacker's Pantry - Risotto with Chicken was filling and easy to prepare straight in the bag. I mixed it very well and let it sit longer than recommended, and it turned out great. No dirty dishes other than the spoon :)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Backpackers pantry Risotto with Chicken was a treat to eat. Most MRE's are not as good as this specific one. I buy MRE because of their storage life and for camping since they are easy to make. This made for a gourmet meal when out camping! Even my kids enjoyed it. A definite must have to keep or to use for when out camping or backpacking. It was easy to cook and the Risotto tasted amazing! Definitely gave a gourmet feel to our camping dining experience. Would highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pretty excited to try this as it sounded good. It was very easy to make. I boiled 2 cups of water, poured it into the bag and sealed it. It said to let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes so I went with 17 and it was just fine. It actually made a good amount and it was surprisingly tasty. After a few bites though, the saltiness starts to sink in. I definitely couldn't eat both servings as it was filling, but also because of the salt. For what it's for, I would probably buy it if I was hiking and needed a quick meal that was easy to bring.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Smelled good and looked good but the chicken was really dry. The rice was crunchy in some areas yet soggy mostly. The seasoning on it was ok. I think if you are making this at home you should use one and a half cups of water instead of two. If I were starving I would eat this. Its not bad but it isn't good either.
