Backyard Discovery Aurora Cedar Wood Swing Set, Wave Slide, Play Deck, Rock Wall Ladder

This swing set has sooooo many pieces. It took my husband and his brother almost 8 hours to assemble together. It was very annoying but it's super cute. Quality is what you think you'd get for $300. It'll be perfect size until she's about 5 or 6 which is what we wanted.

It was a lot of parts, I put it together with a 5 year old, but she loves it. Took about 4-5 hours, built in my garage, took to spot with tractor… finished swings and slide…. Definitely lots of parts.. they use a different washer, bolt and screw for almost every part… I think organization took the longest. Needed a screw gun, some drill bits and sockets, rest came with it. I can’t complain, 299 tax, it was all there… plenty of extra hardware, had one- two extra of every bolt, nut. Directions were simple, about 20 pages but they were pretty good. Reviews I read made it sound so bad, my daughter is 5, over 43 pounds, and 46” tall, and she loves it. The slide takes a little work, but came out good. Make sure you anchor it. She has been maxing the swing height out. Came out good!

Item arrived missing parts. First call to Customer service seemed good, but the replacement never arrived. Called again to find out nothing had been actioned on. So starting the whole process over. Missed having this built for my daughter’s 4th birthday and birthday party.

This is a great play set - took a full day to build alone and had straight forward directions. When it says ages 3-10 it means it, our daughter is 3 and it’s perfectly sized for her. I suspect by age 10 this set will be too small. We’re not large adults, about 150 lbs, and it’s def not designed for co-play with your kids. The wood is just not thick enough or designed for heavier weight. Overall, a fantastic value, out of the box is exactly as pictured, just keep scale in mind.

Best purchased ice made with Walmart.com We have a very small backyard and I was afraid to purchase a playground. But I’m so glad I did! It’s the perfect size for my 3 and 5 year old daughters. It took two people about 6 hours to build so be ready for that! It’s worth it though! My daughters play with it everyday. Perfect for this quarantine 2020.

4 hours on average my butt. More like 7-8 hours. It would have only taken 4 hours if the holes had been drilled properly and all of the pieces were there. My husband and I had to re-drill holes and improvise on the missing parts. If you have more than one kid, this isn't for you. If your kid is older than 8, this isnt for you. Very flimsy and small. Thankfully we only have one kid and he is two so he fits it perfectly but in about 3 years we will have to get something new.

I really like how this playground turned out. You wouldnt be able to buy the hardware including the brackets, swings and slide for less than $300. I altered the plans slightly, making it taller by buying 5 8ft cedar 2x4s. I raised the floor of the fort 4 inches and the ceiling of the fort 8 inches. It required drilling holes in the new boards and matching the height of the swing support. I assembled the swing support with the angled bracket, laid it flat, then measured down to match the height of the board where it connects to the fort. It was around 87, 1/4 in. It took about an extra hour Id say to pre drill the holes and cut the new pieces. Plus altering the supports of the fort, and add other pieces for bracing. In the future I plan on adding a longer 2x6 swing set beam to add another swing and create more room. The length of the beam puts the swings close together. Its still plenty sturdy with the increased height. If I had to do it over again I would have raised the floor only 3 inches. The angle of the rock wall required me screwing a 2x4 under it. Youll need to add a few links of chains to the swing.

This product is shipped through FedEx. The first time it was shipped I was told that it was on the truck and out for delivery. 3 days later I called FedEx to track the shipment because it never arrived. I was told that it was being held at the warehouse but no explanation as to why was given. I was also told that I couldn't pick it up despite it being within 20 minutes of my home. I am convinced that it had been stolen off the truck because when it arrived 2 days later, the box had been opened and someone attempted (unsuccessfully) to fit the pieces back in. It was covered in tape to hold it together, and the end of the box was moldy like it had been sitting in someones backyard. When I spoke with a Walmart representative they agreed to send out another one once that one was returned. Once again, I tracked the package from the facility to a location close to my house. To Walmart's credit this process only took 4 days! But to my surprise instead of being delivered the next day, it left the facility in Ga. and was sent back out to 5 different states on the other side of the country before making its way back to Ga. again. Once it was processed at the facility in Ga, FedEx stated that the package was too damaged to ship and would need to be reordered again! Upon calling Walmart 2 1/2 weeks later to check on a resolution to this problem, they had no idea that the package wasn't delivered. They offered a refund without any problems but that did not resolve the issue that the playset was anticipated for my grandkids birthdays in July and August and was never received. I will admit that Walmart sent out this product in a timely manner both during the original ordering pricess and when reordered. They also provided extremely courteous/professional customer service. However, due to the poor shipping process I would buy it from another vendor that shipoed directly or didn't ship through FedEx!

It is a great little swing set, more appropriate for younger kids up to 120lbs, instructions were good (except for two parts I had to reverse to get holes to line up additional construction). Around 70 pieces, with lots of hardware (they should try to standardize the hardware, so that it is more common with fewer unique packets). All in all, it is a good unit for a good price.

Really cheaply made. The design of this is questionable to begin with but the biggest issue is how thin the wood is. It’s all cedar so the wood is really soft. If you combine soft, thin wood with short cheap screws it’s not a good mix. In a lot of areas, especially around the sidewalls, the screws don’t bite and just strip threads. Lots of main beams with linear cracks that will get worse with use and frost. This won’t hold and would be surprised if this makes it through the winter months. Would not purchase again but for $2XX this is about what is expected.
