Badger Basket Covered Convertible Cedar Sandbox with Canopy and Two Bench Seats

Just got this sandbox so I cannot yet attest to its durability, but it was simple to assemble and is a well-made product. I love the closing doors to keep animals out of the sand, and the bench seating is very convenient. I will upgrade the cover on the top to something more durable, but otherwise I am very pleased with this purchase.

I have three children under the age of 3 and they all love this sandbox. The folding benches are very nice and make it easy to close up and keep animals out. We put four bags of play sand and it seems to be a good amount for playing in. The canopy worked great when it poured down rain for almost two days. Highly recommend this product to anyone.

Easy to assemble (less than an hour). I love that it has a wooden cover that doubles as seats. It also has a canopy that blocks the sun! It's a great size for multiple kids. Our three kids (ages 2 to 6) spend hours playing with their sandbox!

Great for two 1 year olds to play in. Just what I needed. Wished it had a bottom though. Also the price is a little steep for what you get over all I'm happy. Thanks

My daughter and I put this together last night for her 2-yr old son. Love the base--hate the awning. Base came together fairly easily. Instructions are just pictures and not very specific at that. Pay carefull attention to where the nail holes are. Was so glad to see the doors were already assembled for the top. Nice and sturdy. More play space then I thought there would be. Very disappointed in the awning.The poles would not stay attached to the side. I ended up having to buy different hardware to make it work. The only thing holding the plastic on is velcro patches. The middle pieces wouldn't line up so I stapled it on with a staple gun. I could have done better with pvc pipe and a shower curtain. My grandson loves it and I suspect will live in it all summer.

East to set up. Protects the kids from sun and it folds down over the sand to protect from the friendly animals in your neighborhood. The folding seats are a nice feature. The only problem I had is the canopy didn't have all of the vel-cro patches. The factory missed 4 of the spots. I had to buy extra vel-cro from home depot to make sure the canopy was secure. Good Luck

I could not give this item a five star rating. The instructions are not representative of how to put this sandbox together. The pre-drilled holes were not correct and some of the hardware was wrong. If my husband wasn't inept at putting things together, we would of had to pack this back up and return it. Just be aware that these issues may arise. Also, the hinges on the seats are flimsy and already starting to rust. My kids love this sandbox. It holds 15 - 50lb bags of play sand. So plenty of sand in it to build a kingdom.

Took the product out of the box and the first thing I noticed was the quality of the wood. It is barely a step above particle board. It says made of Cedar but I think it is more a derelict cousin twice removed from Cedar... Willing to by pass this and carry onward, the instructions for assembly looked pretty straight forward. However, the poles that hold the canopy in place are connected with long screws and are suppose to go through a metal washer like deal with claws that is meant to secure the screw into the wood and make the joints connect tightly. This did nothing and the joint kept falling off... Sorry for having no idea what the technical terms are for these items are but I am sure the point is clear... They don't work. Also, the screws are made if what I can only describe as maybe metal? I say that because the heads stripped with zero effort. The canopy in the picture looks awesome , like canvas or some other sturdy material... It's actually about the consistency of a 1 ply painters tarp and I am pretty sure if you look hard enough at it, it would tear. All in all, I am disgusted with this product and suggest you browse to another sandbox! On another more personal note, the horrible design and quality ruined my sons birthday present and now I am stuck with 800 pounds of sand and no fun place for my child to play.

the sandbox was very poorly made. It came with numerous scratches and dents. The screws to hold it together were of extremely poor quality. Not worth the money, but our son saw it and loves it, in spite of the flaws!

We have only been playing with this sand box for less than a month and it officially broke yesterday. Only my three year old plays with it, and the wood split in multiple places, the pieces that hold the top up. I paid extra for a sand box that had a shade, but this one wasn't worth the price.
