I agree that the lip color does nothing for the dolls face. But, the face is very pretty otherwise. The people that have a problem with the outfit...for gosh sakes... buy the doll a different outfit! Can’t you afford a different $5 outfit? Its NOT painted on ya know! Barbie was NEVER invented to “represent” evey person in the world. She is about fashion. Get over yourselves! The world does NOT revolve around you. Not that it matters...I like the purple hair. No matter what the skin tone is.

I bought it as a gift for a little girl. Representation is very important when youre growing up up. Its nice when children can see themselves in their playthings. Barbie has come a long way, baby!

I bought a variety of Barbie Fashionistas for their diversity. The one's I chose are interesting, cool and beautiful. This particular doll, I don't like the purple hair with the skin tone. It looks different IRL but the doll itself is gorgeous.

This lovely doll has darker skin than in most of the online pictures of her. She is as dark as the AA Rainbow-shirt/dress Fashionista doll. I love the darkness of her skin, but she does look different in person. For a realistic photo of her, check the very last picture of her in the listing, that is a better representation of what she actually looks like. I have included that photo in my review.

Complextion is darker than appeared.

I ordered this online as a gift and had it shipped directly to my god-daughter. I was absolutely annoyed when my god-daughters mother called me and told me that when she opened it the first thing she said was, "This doll is ugly." Although the doll does represent the larger size women, the make up and hair make do make the doll ugly.

This just looks a Barbie colored with a Sharpie. Maybe it's the color of the lips and teeth in contrast to the skin tone that bothers me. I'm not sure. But I definitely know that my 7-year old didn't want it. I would NEVER consider buying it for her or anyone else

I love the darker skin barbie, but the overall appearance needs work. Why does she have purple hair? I looked at each of the other dolls and they all have natural colored hair. My daughters wants one of the curvy dolls for Christmas and it won't be this one. Mattel, you can do better than this.
