I've always wanted my very own load tester and here it is. I like it a lot. I have several vehicles with batteries and I can now check their batteries when needed.
Excellent packaging for delivery and the user friendly operation of this exceptional equipment. I use it often to make sure of charging and battery operation. At my Folden hears afe...this is great for easy ready and piece of mind before going on trips. long or snort!
This is a must have for any shade tree or professional mechanic, the first 100% portable battery tester that I have come across. No batteries or 110v electrical cord needed, you can haul it out on the boat dock to test your batteries or alternator without fear of electrocution! I hooked it up to a spare 12v battery in my garage and ran a load test, the analog display is well laid out and the color coding makes reading the levels a snap. My battery read low and failed the load test, I expected as much. I hooked it to my daughters Honda to test her alternator and the reading was in the green! I replaced it less than a year ago so that's a good sign. The unit can also be used to test the starter. Pros: 1. 100% portable, you can safely take it anywhere to do field equipment Battery testing 2. Easy to read dial with clear markings 3. Nice printed instruction manual included! I really miss this feature with other products. 4. Solid build quality, with tight spring clamps and thick rubber leads. This thing is rugged and ready. Cons: 1. The only thing that is slightly annoying is the burned oil smell under the load test. The manufacturer mentions in the instructions that this is normal and will go away after a few uses. Just wish they could burn all that off before shipping? Like any resistive load tester this unit will get HOT so plan accordingly and allow it to cool down between load tests. If you are in need of a battery/electrical component tester that is easy to use with a rugged build, add this Battery Tender brand tester to your collection. It may save you a few trips to the auto-parts store in the process...
Use it to test my solar batteries for voltage and put load on them to see it they hold power. used on my riding lawn mower to test battery cause it's several years old. just information, it's analog not didital.
it is small and easy to use and take care of. The big plus is that it was one of the few items they delivered on time and didn't cancel of want you to reschedule
I was a little weary of this tester due to and looks rather confusing to use but it's quite the opposite, just a look at the dial and a quick read-through of the instructions, which are pretty short, and you will see this is extremely easy to use and will tell you if you have a battery that will not hold a charge, lacks cold cranking amps or if you're having a charging issue in a matter of seconds. I don't understand why I haven't already had one of these, extremely helpful. I love the load test which is after you hook it up to your battery and make sure your voltage is good then just push the load button and it pulls apps on the battery similar to trying to start your car, and measures your cold cranking amps, if you see them drop off quickly then you need a new battery if they hold steady then you're good. If voltage an amperage check out ok then you could start the car and let it run and see easily how your charging system is doing, if it's overcharging or under charging, great diagnostic tool that will do all that in minutes. I also used it on a few 6 volt batteries I had around that told me that my daughter's power wheels battery was good and the other was toast. If you were a person that works on cars at all or does their own maintenance this tester is worth its weight in gold.
it wotkes fine and got me through what i needed it for
This is my first time using Walmart pickup services. Amazon had a larger selection of battery testing devices and price options. However, I needed this today, so I tried Walmart. The item that I selected seems to meet what I need, so I purchased it for pickup. This was a new experience. Everything was pretty good, so I selected 4/5 starts for most options. I selected 4/5 for this product because my choices were few. So I think and hope this will be good. I tried it today, and it works well.
I just tried out this Battery Tender battery tester. It was pretty easy to use. Easy to connect and read the meter. It has limited voltage range but should be sufficient for most vehicles. All that said, I like this Battery tester. Basically anyone should be able to use it.
heats up very quickly while during testing and smells bad. a bit confusing with the instructions on how to use it. seemed to be a bit unstable while testing multiple batteries and a car
