I had a different item that I ordered from somewhere else that cost more and hard to use. I just came back from a cruise in June to Bermuda %26 South Carolina and was excited that I would be using them. They were so complicated that I sent them back. Plus, some of the pieces came off. These seem a little easier to use and can't wait to take it with me in September to my trip to Chicago. You do have to play with it a bit because some of the directions are not too clear and I'm 73 on July 16.lol Everything that was offered in the one that I sent back which was a Vivitar is in this one for less.
This is a good entry-level product in an elegant clamshell case. Useable from full daylihgt all the way to absolute darkness. There are two types of night vision devices: Entry level like this one, and the professional, huntsman, military versions that are many times more expensive. Not true Bi-noculars, the lens on the left is the camera sensor, the "lens" on the right is the IR illuminator. We've use it out to about 700 feet with good results. Internal batteries are charged via USB-C connnector. Default setting is 10x zoom. Digital zoom goes in from there.
Easy set up, little heavier than expected
great value for your dollar
So far I have not had much time to use it. I borrowed a cheaper one from my dad first to try and figure out what has been coming into my yard at night. These compared to his are bigger heavier and seem to be made better. With his I could stand in my kitchen and look out the window and see the whole yard plain as day even though there is a little bit of light inside. With these they work better if there is no light at all inside.
It's basically an infrared flashlight with a way for you to see what the infrared is shining on. It blinds itself if there's something nearby to reflect most of the infrared. It's annoying to use under trees with low hanging branches for example. Does not seem to pick up any infrared from a source except maybe a fire. It's amazing amount of technology put together, but I have not found it to be useful.
There was not a user manual enclosure like it said it would be. The tiny book which you cannot read did not tell you how to use it. That was disappointing in that it was a gift for my husband %26 can't find out how to use them!
Just took it out of the box, havent even used it yet. I turned it on and the internal view screen is dirty. There is no way to get in there and clean it so it will go back to Wally World tomorrow.
they suck dont work at nighr and that was the point of them
The clarity at dusk is not good
