I went into Beleaf Original Plant-Based Jerky very skeptical. I kept seeing people say it's “sweet,” which immediately stressed me out because I do not like sweet snacks. At all. So I braced myself… and wow, I was pleasantly surprised. First of all: it's not sweet (at least not in the way people make it sound). It's savory, balanced, and actually really good. Crisis averted. The texture is where this stuff really shines. It's chewy, sure—but in a realistic way. It tears like real jerky instead of crumbling or feeling spongy, which is impressive. Honestly, I remember actual beef jerky being even tougher than this, so if that's the benchmark, Beleaf understood the assignment. This is one of those snacks where halfway through you forget you're eating something plant-based and just think, “Yeah, this is solid jerky.” No weird aftertaste, no fake vibes—just a legit, satisfying chew. Bottom line: if you've been scared off by the “sweet” rumors like I almost was, don't be. This jerky slaps. I'll absolutely be buying it again.
Tasty and addicting! The spicy jerky is really chewy, you need to chew it for a while. It's a bit difficult to rip off a piece with your teeth. It has a good flavor but it is a bit too sweet for me. I would prefer it to be more savory. Not too spicy. Overall I probably would buy it again. It's healthier than the meat jerky.
I've tried a lot of vegan "jerky" and none have had the correct texture or flavor. A lot taste like, and have the consistency of, Beggin' Strips. I recently purchased this Beleaf jerky in original and another highly advertised brand to compare. If you've ever eaten Real beef jerky then you know Beleaf got it right!! It's a bit tough (in a chew on it awhile way), you can pull it apart in strips, like how beef jerky is cut length wise before drying so when you bite it you can take a piece off or tear a strip off. ALL vegan jerky I've tried has been soft, doesn't have a pull-apart factor. The flavor almost tastes like Wild Bill's, which was my old go to, but a tad more sweet. The other very popular brand I purchased came in 6 flavors. I liked one flavor. The jerky itself was like chopped up pieces of chicken in texture. Beleaf needs WAY more credit for figuring out this formula more. It should be in stores everywhere. Only Only problem is the pricing which is higher. I'm still going to buy it though!
The flavor was good a bit on the sweeter side than just the plain original flavor but my son liked it. It's pretty close to a regular beef jerky.
Good flavor, easy to chew. It has more of a sweet flavor to it than salty. A little too sweet for my taste but still good. It's hard to find a good vegan jerky and this one is one of the better ones I've tried. Good for snacking without the guilt!
Vegans also need their jerky and this is great. Very tasty snack, will buy again. Would be super good if they used Potassium Chloride instead of Sodium Chloride , but I know not everyone is on the bandwagon yet. Nice and chewy , great flavor.
So I've seen the fake jerky's around and they didn't look very appetizing but I decided to give these a try and I'm glad I did! The spicy was the favorite of the 2 and not too spicy for me but my coworkers who don't like spicy thought the Thai one was pretty spicy. If you're one of those this will be too spicy for you. But it has a nice texture and flavor. No weird aftertaste and chewy but they are in big chunks. Which made it hard to stop eating! A bit pricy but they're a good snack.
I am a vegetarian but use to love beef jerky. This is so good %26 tastes way better than beef jerky. I will be getting this all the time now.
My least favorite between the spicy and this one but still tasty. A bit too sweet for me. Was not too spicy for me but my coworkers who don't like spicy thought this one has a spicy kick at the end. But it has a nice texture and flavor. No weird aftertaste and chewy but they are in big chunks. Which made it hard to stop eating! A bit pricy but they're a good snack.
I always liked this product but this time it was unsealed( No safety tear strip to prevent access). I tasted it and it was very stale and old. When I looked at the expiration date it was dated EXP. 08. 20. 2024.
