I bought this Belkin Power Strip Surge Protector with 8 outlets (3,550 Joules) to put behind my new refrigerator/freezer. I wanted to protect it from power surges since I have lost one or two other applicances due to power surges. So far, so good, but I have only had it for 2 weeks.
I bought 2 units to protect my TV and other electronic devices. I looked up the reviews for surge protectors at multiple sites and finally decided on this unit based on quality and price. Units have worked well so far. The number of outlets and spacing between them is a big plus.
Belkin is a well-known reputable brand, and I have purchased over the years. This recent transaction is my second purchase within a few weeks. After I installed the first one, I decided I needed another for other electronics. It is an excellent value, and I especially appreciate the very long power cord. Thank you for taking care of us, providing us with necessary reliable products. Sincerely, Florence Joan Reckard
I think that this product is a steal. I've always used and trusted this brand and for the price I got it at was amazing. It took a while for it to actually get to the store but I know and understand why because I work there and it was inventory on the date it was supposed to be there. The packaging was perfect and I trust buying things with Wal-mart on further occasions and will look at their site before I look anywhere else if I know that it's might be on it.
I worked at an office supply store charging three times as much for a similar product. It has all that I need to protect my HDTV, Blu-ray player, and DVR with additional plugs should I choose to expand my entertainment area in the future, which I plan to do.
Just what I was looking for in a heavy duty surge protector. I like the power switch being on the end where the cord comes out instead of on the top so I don't accidentally turn it off when plugging in/unplugging cords. The power cord is heavy duty and I was happy to see the power cord plug is a flat/wall hugger and the three prongs are angled so I can use a top wall outlet to go around the outlet in use below it. All my plugs no matter how big fit in Belkin's smart layout. I bought 3 of these and will definitely buy more if/when needed.
This surge protector is perfect for different types of plugs and power units. Nice wide spacing so the unit does not tip over.
Not much to say, solid surge protector from a reputable brand, rated 3550 joules much more than the average household requires. Warranty covers up to $200,000 of connected electronics, great buy if you ask me.
When you plug into it there is a good solid feel to the connection. the positioning of the recepticales is great to. I use it with my computer and you know how some of the devices have big ends on them.so there are 4 regular and 4 offset.
A quality Belkin product, despite an astonishing design flaw by such a mature company. The slotted keyholes on the back of the unit are upside down. Hanging the unit upside down puts the power cord at the bottom and the wire guides at the top. So, I mounted it right side up (power cord at TOP), by sliding it UP on my mounting screws (so they lock in) and then screwing a small, thin block of wood to the wall, at the lower end of the unit, to hold it up in that vertical position. Cable guide is now at the bottom, where it actually helps with wires!
