Canon PG-243 Black Ink Cartridge

I had another brand of printer, known for its initials only (ahem), and that thing would print once, the ink 'evaporating' before 2 months were out. I bought Canon and it lasted 18 months. I had a big project and I bought this ink just in case. You should too; if you come up short, have a back-up. But, no refills. OEM's make their money from ink and they design the printer to reject (somehow) the refills. Never had one that worked.

I bought the printer that goes with this ink about a week ago and I've been printing a lot of documents but I'm on my 3rd ink box now. It's better then my old printer and the ink is a little bit cheaper so I guess I can't complain. Ink is great quality then I have seen in the past. No issues with it as of now.

I bought a Canon TS3122 printer at Walmart on a black Friday sale 6 or 7 years ago as a backup. My printer recently stopped working so I needed to install it after it had sat in my closet all these years. The included color cartridge worked but the black one did not even after applying a hot wet paper towel to remove the dried ink. So I wasn't sure if a new black ink cartridge would work. I could have gotten a less expensive refilled one online but opted for this new Canon brand one from Walmart. It worked perfectly.

When my printer tells me I am out of ink, do you know what the weight difference is between a new ink cartridge and the old one? 0.3 ounces. That is $20 for 0.3 ounces of ink. $20 for what equates to the equivalent of a household nail that weighs 0.28 ounces.

First it is so extremely overpriced. This cartridge will allow 5 1/2 to 8 usps labels to be printed. It arrives fast. and is used in printers that cost less to buy entire printer on sale and get color cartridges included for less. Works perfectly out if box, easy install. positive note : I can still hear ink shake in old one that reports empty. like last one.

Ink runs out too quick. I have be very frugal with it or it runs out in a blink of an eye (I don't print alot either). At first I thought the cartridge was defective, but after 3 cartridges later, it's the item itself that seems to run out quickly. For $15, I would expect a longer lifespan on these.

Ink cartridge was sent in a hard plastic box that I cannot remove. Requesting a refund because I paid extra for it to be sent tonight and now I have to travel all the way to the store

Scam Alert I received 2 Black Ink cartridges, one was empty, as in NO ink in the cartridge. The packaging was tampered with and a used, empty cartridge was put in the box and glued shut on the bottom. I won't be ordering any PIXMA products anymore!!

Printed 9 pages, then the black low ink message appeared and the following page was useless. Not worth the price for the amount of pages printed. This cartridge was a lemon!
