BePuzzled, Hexagon Hanayama Metal Brainteaser Puzzle Level 4 Ages 12+

I love this puzzle. I'm a big fan of Hanayama to begin with, and I have well over 30 different puzzles. Despite this being a three star difficulty, I enjoyed the challenge. I was able to solve it completely… take it apart and reassemble it within 10 minutes. Afterwards, I went to make a small change to the assembled puzzle and I spent an hour trying to get it back to the original starting point. I love when that kind of thing happens because it's as if I'm rediscovering a puzzle all over again. The tolerances are tight, the movements are smooth, and the finish is flawless. Can't ask for a better puzzle!

I have quite an assorted collection of Hanayama puzzles, but this piece is a real winner. Although rated at a "Level 4", once you start to unravel the mystery of the Hexagon, you'll be doing a lot of head scratching and wondering if this actually can be solved. Rest assured it can, but for most it requires patience and perseverance. And it's the kind of a puzzle that you can't put down, because with every move you make, it appears that the solution is right at hand. But not so. Beautiful craftsmanship and rugged build, as are most of the Hanayama cast puzzles. And unlike some of the other puzzles that Hanayama makes, it seems that there is no "once you know it, you know it". You just have to fiddle and fidget until you get those three pieces in the correct position in the frame so that you can get out the first piece, followed by the next two. But once you get it apart, it's quite a challenge to get it all back together again to its original hexagon shape. Highly recommended for the puzzle enthusiast, but strong nerves are the order of the day.
