Berkley Trilene Fluorocarbon 15 Lb For Inshore

Jay August 11, 2025

I recently bought a Penn Fierce IV 4000 Live Liner reel and Ugly Stik GX2 9 ft rod set-up, primarily for flounder fishing with live shrimp. I needed a reliable fishing line with low visibility suitable for inshore fishing applications. I've been a fan of Berkley Trilene fishing line for a long time. So, I chose the Berkley Trilene Fluorocarbon 15 lb test line for this assignment. I'm also using the Berkley Trilene Fluorocarbon 15 lb test line as leader material for the 40 lb braided line on my surf casting rigs. I'm planning on hitting the Georgia coast this fall to put the Berkley Trilene Fluorocarbon 15 lb test line to the test. I expect to get favorable results, and I'll do a follow-up review to share the experience.

Great fishing line at a great price (20lb test)

Angelo March 28, 2026

Berkley has always been good for my fishing line needs, I primarily got monofilament in the past but was looking for some fluoro to setup as a leader on braid. This line has been great right off the spool. I got 20lb test 350yds for $10 and this will last quite a while given I am using it as a leader for the time being. The line is very well hidden in the water and was easy to hook up to my reel. The knot is holding firm and the break strength of the line is what I had hoped for.

Amazing value and quality Fluorocarbon

Eric May 6, 2025

This line is an incredible value. I have zero complaints about it. I've got it in 10, 12, and 15 pound test so far and I plan to get it in all the remaining sizes. Personally I use the 10 pound test for my crankbait setup (7'4” MH Moderate rod with a 5.4:1 baitcast reel). I fished that exact setup yesterday with this line and I can tell you that I have zero downsides when using this line.

Excellent value

Eric April 17, 2025

I picked up a spool of this in 15 pound test to fill up a few of my baitcasting reels for bass fishing season. I've already used it a few times this season and I'm very happy with the strength of it. The price is great compared to when I was buying before. One thing to note with all fluorocarbon is that it has memory and it will be really annoying to use if you have it spooled up on a reel for more than a few months. So at this price point, I'm very satisfied. I would recommend this over the Berkley Vanish due to its strength and I'd recommend this over Seaguar Invizx if you are on a budget.

Excellent Fishing Line

Jay May 29, 2025

This is my secret weapon when it comes to catching panfish on my spinning outfits. It has both ultra low visibility and very good strength. This line also has low memory and won't develop frustrating coils and tangles from being on the reel spool for a couple of seasons. I mostly use the 6 lb test for bream, crappie, and shell cracker. But with the proper drag setting, I'm also confident that it will hold those nice-size catfish and bass when they hit my minnows when crappie fishing.

Great line. Try it!

anonymous July 6, 2025

Great lines purchase the 12lb and let me tell you. You will not have to worry about this line snapping on a catch's very sturdy and durable while not too thick. I would recommend this line.

This is perfect to fix your eyeglasses that have the rimless and held on by string. I had no clue it was held by string either. My advice would be to keep one of those plastic straps, like the ones that hold printer papers in a bundle. They are needed to repair your glasses, which was easier than you think. Saves you money on repair fees or a new pair of glasses. U tube has a video on easy instructions.

Trilene Fluro Near invisible, Strong, It Works!

FunIsUnderRated March 6, 2025

12lb Trilene Big Game Fluorocarbon is clear enough that I can't see it in the water. If the fish can, they've got GOOD eyes! I dropped down from the strong TRilene 15lb because a friend (who's a much better fisherman] said the fish may be seeing my line when I told him my fishing woes. The 12lb is plenty strong. It allowed me to drag out a 4ft water soaked black oak limb I snagged. Yeah, the 12lb stretched. The 15lb has in the past in similar situations. Cut off 4-5ft of leader %26 re-rigged. Saved my lure. Believe I'm catching an extra Bass or two now as well. Trilene Fluoro is a great value for your $. Especially at Walmart.

Disappointed with Big Game Fluoro

Ben December 27, 2025

I've used Berkley products for forty-plus years, including Trilene XL, Trilene XT and Trilene Big Game Monofilament, all of which I will continue to use. I will not however be purchasing Big Game Fluorocarbon again. After getting 10lb for jerkbaits and 12lb for finesse jigs I spooled up two baitcasters, went bass fishing and lost two lures within an hour. While the line spooked perfectly and handled more smoothly than many fluoro lines, it broke at the knot in both instances. It's not my first rodeo so I know to use a Trilene (or double clinch) knot for fluoro due to it's composition and unique characteristics so I can assure you this was not a case of user error. The lures were both 1/4 ounce and the rod/reel combos had both handled the same lures in the past on mono or copoly without issue. The area I was fishing was primarily submerged grass and did not have any heavy timber cover or riprap but I still checked the line for frays after every few casts. I was hoping for another great Trilene product from Berkley but Big Game Fluoro is nothing but a Big Time disappointment.

I've used bait casting reels for a long time. I've always used spider wire braided line, but decided to try Berkeley florocarbon 10lb. I got backlashes every cast, went back to spiderwire every cast was spot on!! it might work good on spinning reel. I must say I'm very disappointed with Berkeley.
