Had a much more expensive can for years, and the lid stopped responding to motion. Put off buying a new one because $$, and found this one and decided to try it. Its most excellent. Good size, doesnt over react to walking by, you actually need to be trying to throw something away, highly recommend.
This silver, stainless steel kitchen receptacle, trash can… turned out to be Beyond My Expectations!… It’s very easy to use …. Very ample in space, it takes about three or more days to fill it with enough garbage to take outside; “I LOVE THAT !” The Sensor works great!… Quite Silently!.
I bought 2, liked it so much I bought a 3rd. Sometimes they don't open or shut easily. But we love them. The odors are so much better contained. I do not have to worry about people and not bringing the lid back on the trash can. if anything happens to these I hope I have enough money to get more.
Good trash can overall; however, the sensor to open the lid requires you to be pretty close to it to get it to release and my trash bags tend to want to fall in if i put much heavy stuff in it as the lid is not tight on the base to hold the bag. For the price, not a bad trash can.
I thought it had a rubber bottom. and a leak pan inside my fault for assuming this. 1. I used a thin rubber mat and cut and glued it on the bottom and 2. added card board inside cut to size to keeps clean from any leakage. my grand kids love to catapult paper plates, water bottle ect. .. the lid has a delay when you wave over the device so every now and then I see plates, water bottle ect flying threw the kitchen ughhh... I will not buy this again it would probably be great for a room in the basement or Laundry room..
I love the color. Just a little smaller than my last trash can though. It has a battery for the auto lid. Not sure yet how long a battery will last. I will try to prolong it's life. You can also manually open the lid. Sometimes when we walk by our hands get close to lid %26 will open when we really don't want it to. Otherwise happy with it so far.
Review left by Walmart Associate: I just received this trash can today and was quite surprised at the need for C cell batteries when the page information clearly states it only needs AA batteries. That was a deciding factor to buying this product because there’s almost always AA batteries in the house. I will be trying this unit for a week or so to determine if I keep it, but there is a significant issue in misleading out customers. Either this listing needs to be updated or pulled from site.
Had it for less than 3 months and the lid no longer functions properly. It stays open now at all times inatwad of cloaing and waitimg for a wave of the hand. Also its not as responsive. You have to wave your hand for more than the normal amount of time for it to open.
I purchased this can in November, 2024. Here we are, a little over six months later, and the electronic component is broken and the lid is inoperable. I contacted customer service for a replacement and they said because it is out of the 90 day warranty period, they would not replace it. So, unless you’d like to be guaranteed that this works for longer than 90 days, I’d choose a different company to purchase from. This one SUCKS!
This has been disappointing. After 2 weeks the top barely opens and many times doesn't open at all. I was going to return it but thought I'd wait and see if it worked better. Now after 4-5 weeks it too late to return and I'll just replace the batteries when it's affordable and manually open it otherwise. I did get it for a good price so that's the positive part.
