Better Homes & Gardens River 20-Piece Gold Stainless Steel Flatware Set with Handles (Service for 4)

I loved these right out of the box, but less than a year later and they are so tarnished. We are a household of 2 so not an alarming amount of use. Very disappointed.

Straight out of the box these are very nice. The matte gold was exactly what I was looking for. The weight of the silverware is nice however, unless you intend to hand wash these for your entire life, I would steer clear. The matte gold eventually started to wear, and they turned a shiny gold then to a tarnished gold now to an almost silver. Certain sizes get used more than others so I have an array of colors at this point in my silverware drawer.

When I first got this set, they were beautiful! Nice weight, great design. However, I’ve had these less than 4 months and the gold is already tarnishing and discolored. It says they are dishwasher safe but I definitely wouldn’t put them in the dishwasher. Very disappointed that I’m back to searching for silverware.

The set appears quite lovely and is offered at a reasonable price. However, after a period of approximately four months, the gold coating seems to be wearing off. This suggests a low quality, and it could potentially be unsafe, as small particles of the coating might contaminate food. If considering a purchase, it is highly recommended to avoid using a dishwasher.

I got 2 sets of flatware a little of 3 months ago and to my surprise the quality of the product is terrible. The gold color is fading off and it feels embarrassing to use them further. Please check the pictures attached and let me know how I can claim a refund for this purchase. Thank you

Unfortunately Better Homes didn’t live up to their description of dishwasher safe. I purchased 3boxes of gold silverware and after 2 months it they started to tarnish. I will definitely be reaching out to Better Homes for a full refund.

The gold did not hold up with washing in the dishwasher. It says “dishwasher safe “ but after about 5 months of use, the gold started coming off. Here you can see a regular size spoon, which we use and wash often, next to a large spoon which hasn’t been used/washed as much. The gold is completely gone. I’ve had the set for 10 months and have to throw it away. Do not buy the gold.

Horrible. They look pretty out of the box but quickly begin the rust in the grooves of the handles making them look dirty.

These would be the perfect silverware set to match our plates and bowls, but after 3 months of dishwashing as it states dishwasher safe, the “golden” color of them faded and are now a silver color. I would never tell someone to buy a product that lies about their dishwasher safe statement.

This flatware tarnished after just 2 months of using and caring exactly as instructed on the packaging. It looks horrible! The finish is coming off making the set look cheap and unusable. I tried contacting both Walmart customer service and the better homes and garden service line and received no help in replacing which makes me believe this is a defect with every set and not an isolated issue. Don’t waste your money!
