Nice classic looking bulb with a 2200 color temperature in our new light fixture that gives adequate light but not so bright as to be hard on the eyes when standing next to it at the door.. Our old fixture had 3 smaller bulbs that were white and bright that made you have to shield your eyes from them.. A nice yellow amber so not like a bug light yellow.. Some may not like the lack of brightness but for our purpose it is just right.. There are 2 versions of this bulb out there, the older style uses 6 watts and has shorter LED strings but is a few dollars cheaper.. This one uses 5.5 watts and has longer LED strings which spreads the light out more.. The couple dollar difference and I guess the spread of the light emitted is a tossup as this bulb consumes such a small amount of power over its estimated 13 year life compared to an incandescent lamp.. Behind the rolled glass of our fixture it looks more like an old time gas lamp or an old Edison lamp from the 1920's..

I love these light bulbs, they just sort of transport you back into the past when light was soft and just produces and overall comfortable night environment. I have put these in several lamps now.
