I use this on my gas range, using espresso grind. It makes 6 ounces of coffee, so we have two cups, each with a 50/50 coffee/flax milk mix. Put 3oz. flax milk in the mug, a bit a stevia sweetener, microwave for 20 seconds or so, and then froth. We pour the moka coffee on that. It's a very smooth, rich taste. I'm getting the hang of how much heat and how long to brew; there's small learning curve, but there are plenty of hoe-to online articles and videos.
This coffee maker makes the best coffee I have ever tried. I have bought several coffee makers and The Moka Pot beats them all! The 3 cup produces 100ml of coffee. You MUST follow the instructions correctly and use the recommended amount of coffee to get optimal results. No more coffee capsules for me!
I love my making my expresso this way but go for atleast the 3 cup unless you use gas heat. The pot is so small the handle gets super hot. I did order the 3 and 6 cup and no issues.
I absolutely enjoy brewing my espresso with this coffee maker. It brews quickly and it beats out the other brewers I've used in the past. This one is now a staple at my house.
I had been looking at this pot in different sites and found it to be more competitively priced on Walmart.com. It came from a third party seller, but I was satisfied with the buying experience. The pot itself is great quality and look forward to dialing in my skills towards a good cup of coffee.
A Most Splendid Acquisition: A Review of the Bialetti Aluminum Stovetop Espresso Brewer Being a Full and Faithful Account of the Author's Experience with This Remarkable Apparatus. It is with the most profound and unrestrained enthusiasm that I take up my quill this day to discourse at length upon what I do not hesitate to declare to be the single most consequential domestic acquisition it has been my extraordinary privilege to effect in recent memory — nay, perhaps in the entirety of my conscious existence upon this terrestrial sphere — namely, the magnificent, the resplendent, the utterly incomparable Bialetti Aluminum Six-Cup Stovetop Espresso Coffee Maker Brewer, finished in a silver of such lustrous and noble character that one might reasonably suppose it had been wrought by the very hand of some celestial artisan. Upon first receiving this majestic apparatus, I confess that I stood for some considerable duration in a state of reverent and speechless admiration, turning it about in my gloved hands with the same careful devotion that an archaeologist of the first rank might devote to an artefact unearthed from the depths of some ancient and glorious civilisation. The construction — aluminium of a most superior grade — speaks eloquently of a craftsmanship so rigorous and uncompromising that one instinctively doffs one's hat in acknowledgment. The operation of the device proceeds with a clockwork elegance that would have drawn tears of admiring wonder from the great engineers of our age. One fills the lower chamber with water, nestles within the filter basket a quantity of finely ground coffee, and applies the gentle ministrations of one's stovetop flame — whereupon there follows nothing short of a miracle of modern applied science: a gurgling, steaming, aromatic ascent of the most deeply satisfying espresso known to humanity. And the aroma, dear reader, is an olfactory experience of such transcendent beauty that I have found myself quite incapable of any further productive intellectual labour until the cup has been consumed in its entirety. The six-cup capacity, meanwhile, reveals itself to be nothing less than an act of profound generosity — for what greater gift can one bestow upon one's household and cherished companions than espresso in such magnificent abundance? In summation, I commend the Bialetti Aluminum Stovetop Espresso Brewer to every man, woman, and right-thinking inhabitant of these islands and beyond, without reservation, without qualification, and without the faintest shadow of hesitation. Five stars. Indeed, were a sixth star available, I should award it forthwith.
Why haven't I bought this long time ago ?
Brought this from Walmart online. Do note that material is food-safe aluminum. After washing (with 1st use) noticed that rubber gasket formed incomplete seal resulting in leaking during brewing. On inspection, gasket looked like it was made of rubber that had started to harden and become brittle. Within first use also noticed that handle was rattling and loose. Due to construction, no way to tighten. Promptly returned to a walmart store. Got a similar unit from K.S.P. Half the price with no defects.
This came in a box that had to be at least 10 years old. It looked like it was someone's wedding gift or a garage sale find and they opened it periodically and maybe used a few times. I bought this as new and for a Christmas gift. Very disappointed, I can't believe they would even send to me as new.
