I was using a regular cane. The foot on this cane gives another level of stability. It makes walking so much easier. It does stand on its own on most surfaces, but you need to test it out on thick grass or carpet. Definitely recommend 👌

The cane itself works very well but the gripper on the handle is too soft and mine ripped very easily.
