This B%26D Light 'n Easy model was purchased to replace a 35-year old B%26D Light 'n Easy that suddenly konked out last month. Part of the pleasure of using this one is obvious: how nice to have a heel rest that isn't Gorilla Glued on (which is how the other one limped through the last 10 years or so--)! The color is fun, the features such steam automatically matched to the heat setting, the swivel cord and automatic shut off are useful (swivel cord makes it easy to switch hands and work from the other side of a garment). Plus I notice some features that aren't mentioned, but matter: for example, the position of the heat plate below the extensive plastic "cabinet." Many times you'll reach for the iron without really looking at it after moving a garment, and this design ensures that you don't wrongly reach for the hot part. This iron is heavier than the old model, but that helps to press the clothes at a lower heat setting. From reading the reviews, I guess it's not reasonable to expect this one to last 35 years but - hey, why not?
i never received this item. i hsd an old one....
I am elderly and this iron is light weight and very effective for people who have arthritis and it does a very good job pressing your clothes with steam
This iron gets the job done. It takes only a couple of minutes to heat up and the ironing is smooth. I haven't had any issues until now. It's been almost a year using this.
The iron was about $22.50, with most retailers selling it for about $42 dollars. It really nice because it has a super smooth Teflon base. You can also use water as a spray on for steaming clothes.
I like the weight of the iron. The handle is very comfortable. It heats up nicely. The main problem is that the water compartment is dark and it's impossible to see the water level! Why not make the compartment clear?? Also, the opening to fill the water tank is at an awkward position. Please remake this same iron with a clear water container and easier to use water opening. Thanks!
I only used one time and so far it exceeded my expectations. Liked the 3 auto shut off features that you can't find in many other with the same price.
The dial to select temp. is poorly constructed. It is very hard to turn, had to use a towel in my hand to set. I returned it before it could break.
the iron i received was clearly used. it had water in the water reservoir and a piece of fabric caught in the edge. now i have to go to post office to return it. i am supposed to stay at home except for essential errands because of this carona virus. i am highly disappointed.
I bought this iron mainly because I didn't want to spend a ton of money. Mine was horrible. There was no way to close the hole once the water went in. Water splashed all over the quilt too I was ironing. I just have to say that just because someone cannot afford a top of the line appliance does not mean that they should spend good money on crap. Either step up your game on appliances or get out of it. Figure it out Black and Decker because right now I don't see why I would choose your products again.
