Actually, I purchased this rice cooker as a Late Wedding, Early Christmas, Just-in-time-for Thanksgiving gift for my godchild Whitney. She's an excellent Louisiana cuisine cook--except for that rice! Preparing an entire box of boil in a bag rice for every meal was just too much so I made the investment and she and her husband are very pleased!
Ease of use and size for vegetables and rice.
Works great, much better than the previous one I had.
I have bought this product in different sizes according to my necessities with the same very good result.
Easy to use
I used to have a Hitachi rice cooker up to a few years ago, and Hitachi is (or at least, was) famous for making true rice. It broke down a few years ago and I have been using this product instead (I recently bought this second one for our Christmas party gift exchange! Experience tells me recipients love it). It may not cook as true to the real thing as my Hitachi, but then I can't find Hitachi anywhere and besides, this thing is not bad at all, anyway. Also, it looks much better than the Hitachi. By the way, It does not bother me if rice becomes crispy and brownish on the bottom. I actually like it! I, however, wish they had put an on/off switch on the unit so you won't have to plug/unplug it from wall outlet every time. I do not recall having difficulty "water boiling out while using this unit."
I bought this because I like steamed rice. So far we're 1-2 for steamed rice. Could be that I'm still figuring out it's foibles, but I feel I shouldn't have to for something so inherently simple. Rice, water, heat. It tends to boil over and leave both the pot and lid a sticky, gooey mess. However, it will steam fish and veggies beautifully. Cleanup is a breeze, literally, hot water, a teeny bit of soap, and a cloth to wipe it clean. Nothing sticks. It can also be used to heat/make soups and chilis, etc. Overall, it's good value for money and it does what it says it will. Might need to use it a bit more and figure out the whole thing better but overall I'm happy with it--not just the mess that results from the boilover. It's not my mom's old rice cooker (she's had it for 30 years...) but it'll do me just fine.
The rice inside this rice cooker gets stuck. It's not good at all.
First it looks too small I couldn't believe it's 14 cup rice cooker still I thought let me go ahead and use it . I want to try with two cups of rice but when I turned it on after 2 -3 minutes I smelled electrical or wire burning smell coming out off the cooker , I turned it off immediately just don't want to take risk and then returned it to the store .
Came refublished and not complete as described in the descriptions.😡
