Trimming the shrubs and low tree branches is easier. I don't have to drag out a 5' ladder. Now, I just slip in the battery pack and get the job done. This purchase should have been done years ago.

I purchased this as a gift for my father. He has some very tall hedges that he would trim on a ladder with a standard hedge trimmer. I was concerned for his safety and thought there has to be a better way. This product does the trick... No ladder needed! It reaches almost 10' and will trim for almost an hour with a fully charged battery. The head pivots and allows for a very versatile range of use. The whole trimmer weighs around 8 lbs. and will definitely give your arms a workout. The only thing I was unhappy with is that in the product description it says it includes a storage bag but it did not. I contacted Black and Decker and they said the product no longer comes with it but they did send me one.

This trimmer exceeded my expectations for a battery powered hedge trimmer. It was easy to maneuver and trimmed a large holly and shrubs around my house with ease. I used the trimmer for about an hour and the battery was going strong. Overall, an excellent product!

It does have some weight to it but I did a little at a time, unless you are a strong person than no problem with weight.

This is a nice unit -- cuts small to medium branches well. Although it is one of the lighter units available, having the "heavy" cutting head on top of a pole makes it awkward to use, especially when I'm on a ladder and have it extended horizontally to trim the top of large wide bushes. However, that's the nature of tools on poles; in my opinion, this is good as it gets for a DIY homeowners extended hedge trimmer.

Works well and battery pack lasts for at least an hour. The 8 foot pole is heavy and does require arm strength to hold out and trim tops of tall hedges.

This product is functional and easy to assemble. The power is adequate, and it cuts the limbs quickly. The main issue for me is the weight, which makes it hard to lift up to high branches. I don't know how other models compare with that issue. Overall I would recommend this product for trimming elevated branches of shrubs.

Arrived early, looks good, a little heavy. Haven't fully used yet.

Works well on hedges and trees with smaller branches. Not as powerful as BD electric hedge trimmers. Much easier to trim trees that are 10-12 ft. tall. 5 different positions are a great feature.

1. This is a 2-piece unit. The battery, handle and pole are one unit and the trimmer is the second. There is no way to use the unit as a short unit connecting the handle to the trimmer without the pole. 2. The item is very heavy, and use requires my hands to be very far apart from the trigger to where the pole must be held to trim, which is very close to the heavy trimmer at the end of the pole.
