BLACK+DECKER BEHTS300 20 in. SAWBLADE Electric Hedge Trimmer

This hedge trimmer is a real workhorse. It easily gets into tight places while trimming and is very, very reliable. Not having to deal with gasoline is also a plus.

I purchased this model to replace an older model. 16" Deluxe Trimmer. I nicked the blade on some metal decorative fencing while trimming some Azelia's. This model is an upgrade from my old one and works fantastic and so easy to assemble. Recommend to any homeowner who wants to get the job done.

120V Hedger that's powerful and easy to operate

I purchased this hedge trimmer for small hedges and trees. It is lightweight, easy to handle and reasonably priced. Black & Decker products have proven to be a quality tools. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a solid trimmer for small shrubs and trees.

I bought this B & D Hedge Trimmer a month ago and, although I've only used it once, I like it. It's light and easy to handle, but still powerful enough to cut shrubbery limbs cleanly. My neighbor saw me using it and asked if she could borrow it. She also said it worked great.

Used the 20" electric hedge trimmer for several days immediately after purchase. Cuts smoothly even through thick Virginia Creeper vines, but did not test on the full 3/4" rating. I purchased the 20" rather than a longer one for lighter weight and ease of handling for which it turned out to be superior. Love the thumb trigger on this one for safety; my older trimmer would start almost every time I touched it. Only complaint is the useless saw blade; in sweeping with a counterclockwise motion, twigs normally easy to cut get jammed on the inside space between the fixed blade guard and the last cutting tooth. The fixed blade guard should be sharpened on the trimmer side to enable the last cutting tooth to cut.

With shrubs and bushes getting out of hand, it was time to upgrade from hand clippers. This was a good decision for both price and features. The power and ease of use were better than expected. The saw tip was a little bit of a challenge to get used and would not include that as a pitfall. Looking forward to a serviceable life.

Bought this two days ago to get rid of sprawling/heightening shrubs. Area about 140 ft. x 15 ft. I was concerned about the large tough area so I oiled the blades and went to work. No problem !!! With the 3/4" opening this unit worked great !!! Shrubs, thorn bushes and popular trees that had sprouted were no problem for this unit. The saw feature actually worked so I didn't have to get another saw out to do the job.

I purchased the BEHTS300 specifically for the saw portion of the blade. However, after only trimming my hedge once, I realized that the sawblade shoe prevents trimming a hedge from right to left. Hedge branches get caught between the blade and the shoe. If you attempt to cut at a 15 degree angle to get a flat top per the manual, it gets hung up immediately. I'm very disappointed. It cuts fine sweeping left to right, but that's difficult for a right-hander. So I'll try taking off the shoe, but if that doesn't work......?

I have this trimmer among other 20v products from B%26D. Why I rate it low is very cheap quality of the charger. The little cord is easily frayed with less then general use. Please see pics. My charger is useless. It sparks when I try to use. There are better ones cordless tools in the market.
