the black and decker jig saw had great reviews. Walmart offered at a great price. have been testing the saw with various woods and blades, and I am impressed. will retire my 40 yr. old craftsman jig saw to my son. I was skeptical about a B%26D jig saw, this saw is great

I like the solid feel of the jigsaw, it also makes cutting curves easy.

Great Jigsaw for the money!

The Black + Decker 5 Amp Electric Jig Saw with Curve Control is an excellent saw, with a few limitations. The variable speed trigger is proportional and will slow the blade stroke down to a crawl. The dust blower works well - especially at higher blade speeds - and will send chips flying away from the cut line, bouncing off the workpiece, and dropping onto the ground. The front auxiliary handle is bulbous, comfortable, and provides lots of grip. And, the tool-free blade change works well with T-shank jigsaw blades. I did, however, find compatibility issues with U-shank blades and this jigsaw. To remedy this issue, I ground a small dimple (pictured) in the U-shank blades with a rotary tool and an abrasive bit. This modification allows the tool-free blade holder to capture the U-shank so it does not loosen during cutting strokes. I also found compatibility issues with the dust port, because my common 1-1/4” vacuum attachments (pictured) are slightly smaller than the port. The dust port may be a less common size, but the dust blower works so well that there is no need to search for an adapter. Overall, I would recommend this Black + Decker Jig Saw to anyone, including a friend.

My husband bought this jigsaw for me when I was making a baby cradle for a family member. It is light enough that I can handle it comfortably even with the arthritis in my hands. I needed it to cut out stars in the sides of the cradle and it worked perfectly. I have used it several times since then and am very happy with it. I like the adjustable features. I have used it when I wanted a slower controlled cut and also when I wanted it to cut quickly. It is very easy to use and I haven't tried to use it for anything it hasn't been able to handle. I'm sure at some point I will find out it isn't the best tool for some cutting needs but so far I haven't found anything. I have wanted a jigsaw for a while and I am so glad to have one finally. I have several black and decker tools and they are all very good.

Bought this jig saw for a little project online through Wal-Mart site. Ordering was smooth until checkout. Delivery although didnt do such good job. Item was suppose to be deliver to home that turns out i had to go get it from mailbox. The product has a lot of power and the trigger is such a booster the control of speed makes you feel like a pro. Curve selection is as useful as it is. Great for all around the house improvements. Definitely recommended.

I used the jigsaw same day delivered, had project held off two days. The instructions are disorganized in format but are easy to understand. I appreciated directions regarding adjusting the shoe for 45° cuts. I recently discovered and watched a YouTuber demonstrating it. I had no idea. I'm eager to practice on scraps. I was cutting pine plywood and the saw was easy to handle. I needed to cut on a wide curve and being able to have the curve choice feature made a nice smooth edge. I am right handed, 60 years old female with a weakened hand between my thumb and index finger from a past injury. I had no difficulty maintaining a grip to guide the saw. Black and Decker is great. I purchased several power tools from the company and i'm very happy with it. Their tools are the best in their category in terms of overall value. This Jigsaw in particular is perfect for the kind of DIY projects i work on at home. It's very easy to swap out blades. It can cut very quickly as well.
