BLACK+DECKER KE1555GY 1.7L Cordless Electric Kettle with Rapid Boil, Grey

It's so nice to have this addition to the kitchen. It boils fast and is so simple to use, just fill it with water and push the lever. I use it for tea primarily but it's also great for ramen cups or just cooking in general any time you need hot water. It's easy to clean too!

I've had a number of these kinds of kettles purchased when living in various parts of the world. This one by comparison feels less substantial -- quite light when compared to others I've had. However, that may be a good thing (I don't know) in terms of shipping, etc. It does the job fine and has a nice blue light feature. Although it feels less substantial, it performs just fine. I personally can't imagine NOT having one of these to make tea. Makes life so much easier. Once you get one (if you have never had one), you'll never go back. In my case, I make big jars of tea, let them cool, and then keep them in the fridge. I got used to drinking cold green tea when living in Japan. Would never be without now. And who wants to make tea one cup at a time. Though I know there's supposed to be some mental/spiritual benefit to doing so, I can't be bothered :-)

I've owned quite a few electric kettles and this one is, by far, the best! I thought the glass kettles were top-rate but they become very heavy when filled up and it always took around 7/8 minutes to reach boiling. This B%26D Rapid Boil Kettle solves both problems ... the material of the product is much lighter than glass (and safer I might add) AND it brought a completely filled to the top kettle of water to rapid boil in 5/6 minutes! I also wasn't sure about the gray color, but it's perfect because it's a blackish/gray not a dull gray. The 'blue bubbling' water is so pleasing to watch and the sale price cannot be beat! I love this kettle and cannot rate it highly enough!!! 5 Stars across the board! Thanks, B%26D!!

I was able to snag this kettle for $13. Had i bought it at full price of $60 i'd probably be mad. It is palstic and doesnt seem very durable. I'm scared if my cats knock it off the counter it'll be toast. But performance wise it's right "on the money" and performs very well. DO NOT USE TAP WATER in this machine...

Purchased during a sale for less than twenty dollars to replace a smaller, old pot. I liked the look of it. I have been using this for just a couple of weeks. It heats quickly, easy to use, and because of the plastic housing it is a manageable weight when filled to max lines. I wish the cords on the bases of electric pots were longer. Maybe a safety issue? Not a feature of just this pot. Seems universal.

I needed a large kettle that could heat up a lot of water in a very reasonable amount of time for my baths. This suited both of those needs. To test it out, I actually overfilled it with room temp water and turned it on. It took about 8 or so minutes to fully boil. That's a lot of water, so I find that amount of time pretty decent. I also like that the kettle has a blue light that turns on while the water is heating, which takes the guesswork out of whether it's done when I'm not right at the counter.

Black and Decker Rapid Boil 7 Cup Electric Kettle is simple and reliable kettle to boil water. not too many fancy features, but designed to boil water and boil it fast. when the price is below $15, I would highly recommend to grab one even as backup. PS, it's stainless steel inside, not full plastic as people thought.

It heats the water up pretty fast. I wish it would finish up faster though. Be prepared for a very bright blue light inside the kettle to help wake your senses up as soon as you turn it on. It's pretty,but a little too bright. This basic base is good because the cord in attached to the base and not the kettle. It is pretty light-weight and thin though and take extra care not to get it wet. The kettle shape is pretty non-fancy, yet functional. You might call it basic. The plastic grey colored outer shell is most beautiful. It does the job thus far and I would recommend it.
