Black+Decker Over The Range 1.6 Cu. Ft. Microwave Black

This microwave is nice. Love the hidden opening if the door. All buttons at the bottom look. I aslo love that it only has the stainless steel strip at the top.

The microwave is sleek looking and easy to open and it was on sale.

I like the microwave but it has a wide space that could have been used for something also no handle closes kind of harsh.

If you're looking for a fancy microwave with all the bells and whistles, this is not it. It is very basic, but it gets the job done and seems plenty powerful enough. The worst thing about this microwave is the way the door opens. There is no button to press to make the door come open, and there's no handle to pull, there is a notch on the door around the side of the microwave that you grasp and pull to open the door, and it DOES NOT open easy, you have to pull it really hard and it makes a very loud scraping or sound when you open it, and closing it is even worse. You have to basically slam it to get it to shut. The way the door opens, could create a problem If you're hanging it in a narrow space, which we were. There is just barely enough room to get your hand between the wall and the microwave to grab the notch and open the door. Look at the pictures I included in this review and you'll see what I mean.

It has taken me weeks to prepare the wall to mount this microwave over the range, i even had to have a friend come over to help me mount it. It has taken enormous amount of my time. After hanging it last night, i realized there is not a button door handle or any way to open the door except by grabbing the crack on the bottom and pulling with my fingernails. I contacted Black %26 Decker today , and the customer service representative informed me this model has no way to open the door . there is no door handle no button. Do not buy this microwave unless you like breaking your fingernails. It looks nice but it is completely and unacceptable product that should not be sold by Black %26 Decker. In my opinion, whoever was in charge of Designing this microwave should be fired. Walmart should never carry this product. Buyer beware this product has no handle or any button to open the door you have to use the crack of the door and grab it with your fingernails to open it. All this work drilling hanging wasted because Black %26 Decker is selling a product that is defective and will not stand behind it shame on them.

Unit came from Georgia via Fed Ex in damaged box. Upon opening it was found to be damaged itself. We immediately replaced surrounding packaging and printed label. FedEx picked up return on 9/2/25. Still awaiting credit for the return. Reordered to see if can get undamaged unit.

Received severely damaged box hardly held together notified Walmart.com who only issued a $25 gift card and told me once the pickup driver scanned the label my replacement would be shipped a week after item was picked up still no replacement had to call again only to find replacement was not shipped and would be shipped the following day totally unacceptable since I paid a good amount for this product Walmart needs to up their compensation and replacement process no wonder everyone is going to target

They left the package at another house that is not mine and I had to go out to look for it because of the photo they left me. It also arrived a day later.

It was too large to fit. Had to return it.
