BLACK+DECKER PHS550B 3.4 Amp Powered Hand Saw

sometimes we need tools for cutting any material (wood, plastic and metal).... I used to cut cpvc water pipes, cutting wood studs and closet shelves... easy and fast.

This is my 3rd Navigator. Love the item - I use it for everything around the yard. The new model has a different hand grip - cushy but my hand slips when cutting for a longer length of time.

This saw was recommended to me cos i needed to cut down some bushes that were growing around my trees and also cos i have to repair an old shed. The saw looks like its up to the jobs i have in mind but before i could use it my son used it to make himself a anime 'prop gun" out of pvc pipes and used this saw to cut the pipes. It was his 1st time using it and we were both very impressed! This saw comes with 2 different types of blades which is a plus! I would recommend every household has one:)

I'VE OWNED ONE FOR MANY YEARS. I'M GIVING THIS NEW ONE AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT. THE SAW IS A GREAT TOOL TO HAVE IN THE HOME.

I am purchasing this to replace an older model I had for 11 years that I used and abused. I probably might still have it, but it took me 10 years to figure out the blade loading, and I think I messed that part of it up, until the blade would not stay in. It is a great little saw for a variety of uses, especially for a female because it is light, allowing me to hold and use it with an outstretched arm. I'm sure it would not satisfy a professional, but for a home owner with odd little jobs, it's the best investment I made to my tool collection. Can't live without it.

This saw is amazing! I am a 37 year old female with arthritis in my right hand, arm & lower back due to disabilities I was born with. The saw cut my yard work in half. We have an Apple Tree that has not been properly pruned in about 14 years. It has branches all over the place & a lot of them started to intertwine, it was a mess. With this saw I was able to give the apple tree a complete overhaul. It was able to cut down heavy branches that were 6 to 7 inches in diameter. Like other people, I also had some trouble fitting the saw onto the pin so I went on YouTube & I finally got it. The picture on the left is what my Mom & I did with clippers & a regular old saw. The picture on the right is what I did with my electric saw. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

I just ordered my 3rd one over the last 10 + yrs. The first one started giving me shocks. The second one after 5 yrs broke internally. "Shop locally", so I asked a local source to order one. "The Company discontinued it", I was told. Not true! The Product is light enough & fits my hands. It should go in a book Woman's Guide to Power Tools.

I needed a light weigh, electric, single blade saw to cut out dead wood in my bushes and tree limbs. B&D came out with this very recently and its a super little piece of equipment! I'm a senior..with weak wrists.. It cut thru 2" dia wood with ease. I do not like the safety switch!! My small hands can't "thumb" that button and pull the trigger at one time.. A piece of duck tape will hold it down!! Just be careful when you decide to bypass safety options!! I love it.. It does every thing I need!!

I love this tool so much that it made me write my first review. At first glance I was wondering if this might be the tool to help a 50ish lady with back issues take control of her yard. I was worried that it might not be powerful enough...but boy was I wrong. After dinking with the blade lock pin (Make sure it is in the correct position or everything just will not fit together) the blade went in easily. I hooked it up to the extension cord and went on a cutting spree. It pretty much cuts through limbs ( or small trees) as big 4 or 5 inches wide, those that are three inches or less it cuts them like a hot knife through butter. The unit is not heavy and is comfortable to hold. Even at its max the vibration was not bad at all. I did not find it to be loud and the locking safety mechanism is great. As soon as you let off the button it stops. I was surprised however to find that it only had a two prong plug and not a three. The storage bag is large enough to store the unit with the blade still attached and still has lots of room for other things. Its also the perfect lil saw for cutting firewood to the right size for my firepit. I have not used the metal cutting blade yet but if it works as well as the wood one I am one HAPPY LADY! GET ONE...you won't be sorry!

I can't believe how horrible the Black & Decker instructions are. The only thing you have to do is install the saw blade. After quite some time, I went online looking for a video, without success. Fortunately, I was finally able to find a review on another site that gave clear and easily understood instructions. I would have never been able to decipher the B&D instructions.
