We tried out the Blackstone butter roller and honestly, at first I didn't think it was needed. Then after my husband grilled cheeseburgers and used the butter roller on the buns... I was hooked! We don't have a griddle but a regular gas grill and it worked out just fine on the grill grates. He put it on the top rack and it heated up the butter nicely and the the roller worked well with the butter. After several buns being buttered it never got sticky or hard to roll. The container is deep enough to hold 2 full sticks of butter and the roller reaches down close to the bottom of the container to get to the melted butter. It also comes with a transparent orange lid to keep the bugs out of your butter. Like I said, I never thought that I would ever NEED a butter roller but yes, I do now! This could be used for any type of bread and different grills, griddles and stoves. This is a neat product and I think you'll love it if you do a lot of grilling or entertaining! I also think the quality is high enough that a restaurant could also use this model in the kitchen. The container was heavy duty enough for daily use.
I never knew I needed a butter bun roller until I got this one. The quality is exceptional and very easy to use. It's not only good for buttering buns for toasting while grilling (that's a THING!) Its good for using in the kitchen as well!. It distributes butter evenly onto the bread. Just the right amount. An added bonus is that it comes with a lid so that you can store any extra butter for later! Great product, would definitely reccomend!
This butter roller is super easy to use. You simply melt the butter and pour it into the stainless steel bowl. The rolling piece just sits in its cradle. This product works as it is supposed to. It is just like the ones you see at BBQ places. It is quick, efficient, and does a good job at even distribution. We used to spend so much time buttering hamburger buns when our family would come over. Now, we simply melt the butter, roll it on and throw the buns on the grill. So much faster. The product cleans really easily. We usually just handwash these as there is no real reason to put them in the dishwasher. The cover comes in handy to keep flies out of the butter when you are outside. The little "spout" on the side of the bowl is not really what I consider a "spout". I think it is useful and does give the butter a good place to be poured back into its original container. However, when I first saw the "spout" I thought the product was just dented/damaged. All in all, I really like this butter roller and no longer dread having to butter over a dozen buns.
A few weeks back I had the chance to get a bun butter roller. I used a similar product when I was quite young cooking hamburgers at the local bingo parlor. I have always liked toasted buns for burgers. This one works great. I don't have a griddle but it worked ok on the charcoal grill also. I just put the butter in base and let it melt will the burgers were cooking. Then I had a 2 burner cast iron griddle that I put on the grill and used that to toast the buns. The only problem I had was on my first bun. It didn't look like there was much butter on it so I rolled the bun again. You might be temped but unless you like a lot of butter on your bun one roll is enough. With the picture below you will notice an orange cover. That is so you can leave the butter in the roller, put on the lid and store it in the fridge. The only problem with that is it is rather large. My fridge is always packed so we don't have the room. All I did was store the melted butter in a smaller bowl to use the next time and washed the roller for when I need it again. As soon as I can I will be getting a Blackstone 36 inch outdoor gas griddle. That is what the butter roller was meant for. It worked on the grill but would be better on the flat top.
At first I didn't like this butter roller at all! There were absolutely no instructions, I had no idea how to care and / or use this thing. Then I got brave enough to test this roller. I used plain water and a napkin so I won't ruin food if it's not gonna work. Well, it worked perfectly! Since then we buttered our hamburger buns, dinner rolls, did french toast wash and made grilled cheese sandwiches. This roller is awesome! I love the handy plastic cover too, but it doesn't click onto metal body. It's ok though, cover still does its' job! Very nice and handy kitchen gadget to have!
Amazing cooking simple tool, I just threw in a block of butter left the roller on my Blackstone grill and rolled away
I love This bread butter roller it's perfect for my countertop griddle. You just sit butter Inside and it will melt on top of griddle. I love it the only downside about it is you have to use a lot of butter other than that this butter roller is a good choice to buy.
This was advertised to be used on a grill. I have been using it on my stove when making toasted cheese or similar pan sandwiches. It puts a nice even coat of butter on the bread or buns of your choice I melt the butter in the pan on low heat or it can be melted on your grill. It is made well from stainless steel. It has a pouring spout to remove all the butter from the pan and comes easily apart for washing. It also comes with a lid in case you just want to put it in the refrigerator until your next use. Nice idea
You would have to be a big time griller.. This cool little tool was one that we enjoyed. It's a decent size unit so our small grill isn't choice for it. But when we used it both time it was great to butter up the buns and vegetables! Cut down on time. The unit is very well built. Constructed of high quality materials. Its heavy. I would recommend it to the big time grill master. But for the canal camper and twice a month griller at home it no economical to use for a couple people!
I really thought this was appealing at first. I've seen similar contraptions in a restaurant but this didn't pan out very well for me. It must take a lot of butter. I added a half a stick. I was only buttering 2 buns. I didn't want to waste butter. Well it was used on a grill. It was too hot to handle. It was difficult to use just one hand. Maybe it would be better for a griddle since it's obviously made for those. I did however read somewhere that you could use it on a grill. Well I won't do that again. It didn't butter my buns very much at all. I think if I was to use it again, I'd just throw some butter in a bowl and warm it in the microwave and then throw it in the roller. I still think it would be difficult to use on a griddle. It needs to be secured down. Otherwise it would just slide everywhere. I guess I just had bad luck with it.
