I love this mix! It is so easy and the pralines come out perfect every time. I am by no means a candy maker but using this mix would say otherwise. It is as easy as making a cake with a cake mix. I made these pralines using 2 boxes at the same time. I opted for chopped pecan pieces rather than using pecan halves. To me, it is easier with the pieces because there are plenty of nuts in each praline and I don't have to obsess over having the same number of pieces in each one, like I would if I were using halves. I took them to a party and everyone loved them. I am going to make more to take to another party tomorrow. I just ordered more mix to make sure I have plenty on hand. I had a few little broken pieces left and I mixed them into my oatmeal this morning. That is my kinda breakfast! Clean up is a breeze! I filled the pot with hot water and when I poured it out, the pot was spotless. I of coursed washed it with some Dawn before returning to the cabinet. Considering how much it would have cost to purchase already made pralines, using this mix is a bargain plus I get to boast that I made them! I have made pralines before from scratch using a recipe rather than the mix and they were ok, but these are 100 times better. Follow the instructions on the box to the letter. Use real butter. I was nervous to let it boil without stirring but I did what it said and it all worked out perfectly. I allowed them to cool on the parchment paper for several hours because I didn't need them until the next day. Some of the paper was on baking sheets and some was directly on the granite. They all turned out the same. The larger ones are more brittle and apt to break. I will probably make smaller ones from now on. But no one seamed to mind the broken ones.
made it to add to the ice cream and taste good
Excellent and easy.
