This ‘bread' as they call it has the most unique texture and the taste perfectly pairs with their baked beans or your favorite baked beans. Toast it at a high temperature to try to crisp the outside and then enjoy it with these awesome toppings: Butter is probably the very best. Cream cheese. Cream cheese and honey. Apple butter. Cream cheese and apple butter. Or just put some baked beans in it. This stuff has been around forever. I had to order it online because I couldn't find it anywhere close to me. Try it!
I'm pretty old, but I'd never tried this before. I've know about it for many years, but it's more of a New England kind of thing and I'm more Midwest so I never tried it. I wasn't expecting to like it, but it turns out I love it. It's moist and somewhere between sweet and savory so it can be enjoyed topped either way. It does have a heavy molasses taste so if you don't like molasses this isn't for you. It's best toasted in a toaster oven and it stays moist inside even while toasted. Toasting holds it together more and improves the flavor. Absolutely delicious stuff, I just wish it was stocked locally. I'll be buying more when in stock, for sure.
Just like old times, B%26M brown bread in a can is a treat that lasts a long time in the cupboard but is hard to resist when the baked beans simmer on our stove. Just slice off a hunk of brown bread, warm it up, and enjoy the molasses and rye.
Excellent and tasty sweet brown bread great to simply slice and eat, or mw slightly and/or spread a tab of butter on top.
This bread is one of my favorites. When I ordered this it arrived in just a few days! Jets, you are the best! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Arrived quickly and at a Grrreat Price!! not easy to find in grocery stores on the West coast anymore. I remember eating this on camping trips as a youngster. It's a long time favorite.
I really, really like this bread. It recently came in today, but I haven't had it for years, so I busted open a can immediately. It tastes the same as I remember and I'm so happy I can get it online. If you've never had it before, the bread is ever so slightly sweet. It's kinda like a cake, but if it were bread. It's rather dense and heavy, so you may not be able to eat much of it in one sitting. It's very filling. I personally like to have it with butter and sometimes jam. It's good for toasting as well. The value is good as well when you buy in bulk. It's smaller than a loaf of bread, but considering how dense and filling it is, I would say it's well worth what I paid for it. I know people like to have it for winter holidays, but I could eat it any time of the year.
Few products are made this well and consistently using molasses!
Beans were a fairly solid mass like paste! Even after heating them, they were like a paste. Then I read the ingredients. Modified cornstarch!? There was more cornstarch than beans, and it's happened more than once. So disappointed.
Item was triple the price. 3 cans were $5.46 and I paid $18 for this one can. It was thrown in a large box with 1 little piece of tissue paper ..box was mangled when I received and can was dented as it was not secured or wrapped .. Will not order from this seller again. I only purchased to see what this bread was like. In future I will use different seller.
