Fairly easy to put together. Gives a good workout. Seems made for shorter people. I'm 5'7, and have no trouble using it, though if my feet were any longer they wouldn't fit in the peddles. Very satisfied with it. And the 2 year extended warranty at Walmart for less than $15 is WELL worth the investment.

easy to use

Fleamarketgal February 5, 2014

The Body Rider came a few days earlier than stated so I got a jump start on putting it together. The instructions say you need 2 people but I did it myself.I used a book to lift the front up to assemble the front stand piece other than that it went smoothly. All the pieces were there and easy to locate. The only problem I did have was loosening a pre assembled bolt for the pedal which was put on cockeyed. After a bit of struggle and a few words I managed to get it off.Other than that all it assembled quit easily. The seat is adjustable but wish it would go back further. It could be more padded too.It has fluid movement as you pedal .For the money it is a great value.

Great Machine for home use.

Ryrysmommie December 19, 2013

Great value for the money. The plastic cover did come cracked but I kept it because it would never have fit back in the box and it doesn't interfere with how the bike works. The peddle is tilted down so you have to wear shoes or your toes will hurt but overall is a great little machine and will totally work.

No Frills Machine, A Great Value!

June9901 January 19, 2013

The more I have this machine the more I am liking it. I've been working out at the gym for years and am transitioning into home exercise instead (tired of the dirty showers and thefts). Anyway this dual trainer along with a step bench are my primary sources of cardio exercise for the winter. I wasn't expecting a gym quality machine for $150, just something I can get my heart rate up to fat- burning level and that can fit in my 2bd apartment. I was impressed with how fast I received the trainer, I ordered on a Sunday and received my order on Wed or Thurs. The Fed Ex delivery man carted it up 3 flights of stairs and even put it inside my door. It took me just under 3 hours to put together but I'm sure someone with mechanical aptitude could do it much faster. The instructions were a little iffy for someone not familiar with crankshafts and such, but anytime I got lost I just looked at the assembled drawing to figure out what went where. The tools and hardware provided are of good quality and the bolts are made of steel, not aluminum. The parts that fit together were heavily lubricated so I would recommend not assembling on a carpet that you care about. Despite my best efforts I couldn't get rid of all of the "wobble" but this is not noticeable once the trainer is put onto a mat or rug for use. I am 5'9 and I have the seat set all the way back and up as far as it can go to make it fit me. Anyone much taller may feel their legs are cramped on the bike mode. I had to restrap the tension cord to make it more challenging and once I adjusted that I am getting a pretty good cardio workout. The issue with the steep pedals is true, I tried propping the front up a few inches which helped with that, but compromised the workout. It gives a much better leg workout in it's intended position so I combat the problem by wearing a pair of rubber soled clogs when I am on it to protect my toes and keep my feet from slipping so much. Once you really get going with the arm poles the unit does tend to sway from side to side, but seeing how it's half my weight I can accept this. I have often reached out to grab water- or the remote- while riding and never has it tipped at all. The fact that it's lightweight is a benefit because I can easily tip and roll it from room to room. I've had it for a couple of weeks and already used it several times, average about 30minutes at a time. Right now I am tightening the nuts and bolts after every use as some of them become loose while riding. I expect this is because of the heavy lubrication present on the various parts. All in all I am satisified with the product and feel the quality is exceptional for the price. It's great to have 2 exercise machines in one when you're short on space. It's relatively quiet with a thick mat underneath. One additional thing, the plastic covering the base is pretty lightweight so if you have rambunctious children or pets I'd keep them away from it. Definately do not put your full body weight on the plastic cover or it will probably break off. When in bike mode, it is difficult to pedal in a high tension setting because of the large size of the pedals. I also have no use for the calorie counter since it it completely inaccurate. The timer is though! For the small cost I feel I got a good, usuable cardio tool.

Two for one

Patty December 14, 2016

I had knee surgery and needed to find a way to exercise in the future which did not involve high impact on my knees because I apparently am getting old and have arthritis and bone on bone in one place. Eventually I'll need knee replacement and I want to prolong it as long as possible. This piece of equipment gives two options of either biking or elliptical with no impact. I did a lot of research and checked a lot of different types of machines upfront because I wanted something lightweight with a fairly small footprint as far as taking up space. It still weighs about 60 lbs, but it has rollers to move if necessary and is lighter and smaller than almost everything else I looked at. It took a little over an hour to put together. I think the price was excellent for two machines in one and I also got free shipping. My knees were weak when I started and even on lowest tension possible, I still struggled, so it is a workout. The only thing I don't really like is that i do have to wear shoes of some kind to make it go because trying to wear just socks will not let me turn the pedals because there's not enough "grip". The pedals are long and flat so they can be used for either exercise, so it was a little awkward at first to get used to it for the bike portion. Fairly quiet operation and great way to exercise anytime of day or year without braving outside elements.

Good price, strong construction and dual exerciser

karolo January 31, 2013

This machine is good for both male and female persons exept the position of the seat that is not fully adjestable for persons with short arms to hold the handles when you work on the machine but it is wonderful standing strait up. The seat needs to have more forward space to reach the handles while you pedal on the seating position otherweys it is a good exerciser for the money.

RosyQ February 20, 2013

This machine was easy to put together and it works well. The only problem that I have with it is that I have small feet so they tend to slide too far to the front of the peddles. This happens even when wearing sneakers. It would be nice if there was someway to adjust the peddle to your foot size. The arms are too far apart so I find myself having to lean forward to be able to use them comfortably. I think this item was made more for a taller person. Also, when standing on it, I feel that the peddles go more into a downward position as oppose to a straight stride/walking motion. These are not really complaints....merely points that the manufacturer's might want to take into consideration. : )

dont buy it

bfs1210 December 13, 2013

after much trouble of putting it together, half the holes didn't line up where they should have, when all was said and done, when using the elliptical, you are leaning way too forward to be able to do the elliptical. the bike is fine, just about in a horizontal position to use the elliptical. spend a little more money and get something better.

Possessed beast groans and squeaks downhill

kelly April 17, 2021

We had no problem assembling this beast in an hour and a half, however the design is terrible, unergonomic, and just plain weird. I have used at least 8 different brands or models of ellipticals throughout many hotel gyms and personal gyms, and never have I found one where your toes are pointed downward. So, I am sure to wear good shoes to protect my toes, but it also affects the muscle groups you can workout. I decided to keep it (because who wants to disassemble and attempt to return this behemoth??) thinking it was better than nothing. WRONG CHOICE. Within just a month, it makes horrible grinding sounds. I thought maybe there were some factory burrs that just needed to get ground down, and kept going. Now it sounds like I have gremlins screeching every time I use it. I bought this specifically because my old used elliptical made a loud squeaking noise that no amount of greasing could fix. Now I have TWO ridiculously loud ellipticals and my neighbors think we are having raves in our basement, since we have to turn the volume on maximum to watch anything while exercising.
