it's a little hard applying at first but then it's simple, just wish you got more for your money it's not a very big container, the size of a soup can doesn't go far, especially on the big projects. it covered cracks and i would say it was a ease of use. instructions were clear.
I'm 74. My parrot chewed up the tops of two drawers on a primitive antique pie safe. I used Bondo to repair it. I had to reshape the top 1/3 of the drawers which was about 1.5 inches. This product worked great. I watched some Youtube first so I kinda had an idea of what I was up against. I didn't have any issues. I followed directions. It sanded well too. Tomorrow I plan to paint. Very pleased.
Product performed as expected. There's several different options when it comes to 2-part. It just nice being able to pick up a reliable brand, and get the job done without having to learn a new application process of a new product. Using this product was no different from the first time I found myself mixing some hardener in with some filler over 27 years ago. Using this product is very simple and it always gets the job done.
There is two products. The one is the original Bondo and the other is the fiber reinforced fiberglass fiber reinforced it's much stronger, but it's more expensive and it's harder to use, especially if you try to make a smooth finish the only way you can make it smooth is to use some plastic wrap like a shopping bag and place it over the wet fiberglass after you've applied it and then you can smooth it out with your hands because it's still has not set up is still flexible in and it can be moved around and you can make the finished smooth. You're gonna get some air bubbles and little pockets maybe but I find that's a good way to smooth it out very quick and easy and then any imperfections after you peel off after it hardens you peel off the plastic and it will be you can fill that in with the original Bondo or they have a topping now that you can use over it and fill in any little cracks or air bubbles. One thing to be careful never put the tools that you stirred up and mix the catalyst with in back into the original container. It will set off the whole container in a few days, and the whole can will be hard. Use it in a small batches, and it hardens quickly depending on how much catalyst you put in how much harder you put in you don't need to use too much but stir it up real quick don't don't delay because it starts setting up within minutes and you wanna get it put on and smooth out and let it sit within 30 minutes it's it's hard. Excellent product. Used it to repair metal railing. It's seems strong and has held up quite nicely. Will continue to use for any metal repairs. It sets up quickly, faster than the 5 minute time stated in the online instructions, so we worked mixed only about a 1/4 cup or less at a time to prevent drying and wasting product.
Kids slammed the steel garage door and dented it on the bar stools. Had painter Bondo the couple dents and painted, looks great again and I didn't have to buy a new steel door just for aesthetic purposes! Yay.
I followed the directions using another small container to mix the 2 compounds. I was repairing a vintage metal glider with varying-sized rusted holes. I quickly learned the mixture sets up extremely fast, wasting more than half of my first large mixture. Subsequently, I made smaller and smaller batches, but I successfully got the project done. I wasn't looking for perfection. My sanding of the dried product isn't terribly smooth but I no longer have holes, and once painted the tedults are good.
This product is good. It really does work. However, I had to return two of them to get one that wasn't already dried out at purchase. That is the only negative about it. The packaging still allows for air to get into the product even though it has a screw on lid. Once air is introduced into the product, it immediately hardens, rendering it useless.
Be sure the hardening agent tube is present before sending to customer. It doesn't work without this very necessary part. I was credited back once I brought it to their attention but still a hassle having to repurchase the item.
Item received was defective and unusable. Bad for Walmart platform. Item was delivered, but was forced to return at store wasting my time. Buy from them at your peril...
