The Blu-ray quality is great as far as the film it's amazing the story is awesome there are lots of surprises in this film especially if you like a bloody western it has lots of scenes that will stay in your mind well after the film is over
It's a decent enough movie for a rated R movie. But it could have actually been better if they didn't hold back. Because it was not even a believable amount of blood in this movie.
An unexpected amazingly entertaining movie! Kurt Russell is incredible in this movie. Blu-ray quality is great %26 you can't beat the price!
great movie
So.... this is a hard movie to watch. I'm a Kurt Russell fan and have yet seen him in a movie that I don't like, be it many of the Disney movies from the 60's and 70's to Escaping from New York. He definitely has some skills when it comes to acting, and this movie isn't much different. He plays a Sheriff for a small town that has been raided by a tribe of Indians hiding in some caves a few days ride away making off with one of his deputies, the town doctor and an individual who he threw in jail the night before the raid so Russell, one of his deputies, the Doctors husband and an "Indian killer" ride after them in the hopes of saving them. Classified as a Horror Comedy Western, its light on the comedy, but heavy on the western and horror aspects, and as such, it makes the movie hard to watch unless you are a western or a horror fan. Either one of them, you'll love it, but this movie is a little bit on the graphic side, which isn't such a big deal with recent western movies, but I wasn't expecting it to be quite this graphic in nature. Make no mistake, I love this movie and don't regret watching or buying it, but I don't think I'll ever feel the need to watch it again, once was quite enough and I did need to stop the movie a couple of times to walk away, but I kept returning because the plot and story was so good that I wanted to see how it ended.
I can't understand some of the previous reviewers. This movie was absolutely amazing. The cinematography, acting, ambiance and gruesome nature of the film was top notch. Kurt Russel was in his element here, and I was very enthralled by Matthew Fox's portrayal of a gentleman gunslinger (definitely his best role). The cast (several notable names) held a believable rapport, and realism that is often missed in movies. This movie would be a great stand alone Western by itself, but with the violent cannibal aspect, and the characters reaction to the extreme circumstances, I found it thoroughly enjoying. In a world of prequels, sequels and remakes, it is nice to see something truly original again. Kudos to the writer, director and producer who made this film with no money or backing from any studios, and shot a film exactly the way the wanted to.
Very good movie. Worth every penny
It was gruesome!
Kurt Russell stars in this western with a dark, violent twist. Three stars.
Watched it for a half hour. The acting was really bad.
