I am new to insulin dependence.. Cutting out sugar has been such a struggle for me. I've been looking for substitutes/edibles that will help me manage my sugar that don't taste absolutely disgusting. I've been using this product for a little over a month now, I drink one every morning because I'm not really a breakfast person. Eating when I first wake up makes my stomach hurt, but I have to eat in the morning with the pills I have to take now. This replaces that meal and doesn't make my stomach hurt. It makes me feel full and really kickstarts my day! :) I know it is a little pricy, but at about $1.60 a day it is worth it!
i have tried many different brands and flavors, i find this one tastes the best. also good in coffee to sweeten it up when you don't want to use sugar or a sugar substitute. does not raise my blood sugar. easy quick way to get your protein count up as well.
I am pre-diabetic. I don't eat the best diet to prevent full diabetes but I drink 1 to 2 Boosts a night. I just had blood test that showed I am no longer on the border of full diabetes. It is absolutely sure it is because I use Boost. I prefer the chocolate and the 16 grams of protein. For a senior on a fixed income it is expensive to buy 2/15 count cases every 3 weeks but it is worth it. An added benefit is that it stops me from snacking before bed.
Purchased for hubby, who is borderline diabetic but finds that this product is a big help to keep him from getting the occasional "shakes." I keep several in the fridge for him. He'll take one along when we have to unavoidably be out (generally medical visits). HE gave me feedback as far as flavor, etc. Personally, I'm not a fan of thickened drinks no matter the brand. My husband likes ONLY the Rich Chocolate flavor. This size of 15 pack for the price listed on Walmart is seriously excellent. Generally, it's sold in packs of 6 or 12, with the 12 pack averaging up to $28 - 30. Note of caution: I place order during cold weather months to avoid its being on the delivery truck in warm to hot temps. Ordering a few pkgs enables me to place them in the basement pantry. That way hubby never runs out. Just a thought....
These are my favorite cookies. I can eat a couple and feel just right. I like their chocolate flavor and texture of the cookies. I tend to favor the original package instead of the double or flavored stuffing. My grandson likes their chocolate flavor golden ones better but I'll stick with the chocolate.I save the chocolate cookie outside to last.
My husband is type 2 diabetic and really likes to have the boost glucose control on hand. He does not usually use it as a meal replacement but as a snack. His A1C is very well controlled by his med but using this product helps make sure he doesnt have a sugar spike. He likes the choc. flavor only.
I LOVE the regular high protein rich chocolate; however, as a diabetic, I need something with a lower carb impact. Boost Glucose Control is a surprising alternative. Sweetened with sucralose it has almost no off-putting aftertaste. It has a little less protein and not as rich a taste as the regular drink, but the benefit of lower blood glucose impact is a reasonable compromise.
These shakes are very good. The nutrition is sound, they taste good and they are smooth %26 creamy. However, the price is absurd. There haven't been massive developments in Ensure or the technology yet the price keeps climbing. In fact this product doesn't differ much from the Ensure I was buying my grandmother in 1999. The price should not be climbing higher and higher.
I have T2D and I use these as an occasional meal substitute and also keep a couple in the car for when I get hungry but don't want a blood sugar boost. Sometimes I will have one before bed to stabilize my blood sugar overnight. They taste good, although it is not something that I would crave. I think they're kind of expensive for what they are.
this glucose control variety is considerably higher priced, (as much as $20 more per case of 24) and the taste is definitely not as sweet or flavourful as other boost chocolate drinks. TOO HIGH so IF i continue to afford (for myself AND my 84 yr old mother) it'll have to be 1 of the more cost-effective.
