Borderlands (Walmart Exclusive) (Steelbook) (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital Copy)

Some people were disappointed by this adaption of the video game Borderlands to a film. I personally found the movie entertaining and action packed like other similar movies in the Sci Fi adventure genre. If you like movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, you will probably like this movie too. But regardless of your opinion about the movie adaptation, everyone can agree that this Bluray Steelbook edition is beautiful to look at with vibrant colors, and great artwork of the cast. Exclusively at Walmart.

Nice video game adaptational movie!

Based on the video game franchise Borderlands, this movie follows a group of characters who are searching for a hidden vault that holds the key to an ancient alien race's technology. This film can be at times funny, at other times corny, but always action packed. Some of the characters can be very annoying, but overall, it is decent enough movie. Just don't go in expecting a serious, award-winning action flick. The picture in 4K with Dolby Vision is generally stunning. The movie is full of lots of obvious CGI, but wow did it look amazing on my OLED. The worlds they have created are so colorful, so elaborate, and have so much going on. There are lots of really cool lighting effects, fireworks, and explosions. As expected in a newly released movie all about action, the soundtrack is incredible in Dolby Atmos. Interestingly, the audio is quieter than typical as I had to turn it up a couple notches above normal to get the same sound output. Nonstop gunfights, brawls, explosions, and vehicle chases really keep the surround speakers and subwoofer working overtime. The small amount of serious dialog does not suffer as it is crisp and clear. Definitely a movie you can use to show off your sound system or crank up and get sucked into the movie. I love this steelbook. It is a perfect match for the movie and is an absolute explosion of color. The front features a collection of the main characters in the movie and back has the mask of one of the "psychos". It includes a plastic slipcover that outlines the characters, surrounding them with flames and overlays everything with the movie title. The steelbook set comes with the 4K UHD disc, Blu-Ray disc, and 4K digital copy that I redeemed through Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu). Borderlands is definitely not going to win any Best Picture awards, but it is still a good time if you are in the mood for an immature, funny, all-out action movie that is loaded with impressive visuals and audio.

The steelbook itself it awesome I love the slipcover over the steelbook. The movie itself is not as bad as what people say it is, it's definitely worth a watch.

I'm not sure why this movie got panned. It's a decent action movie with fun characters. It's a little predictable and I've never played the game so I can't comment on the faithfulness to that, but I found it enjoyable.

I really liked this movie! Very good cast with enjoyable performances! I recommend to give it a watch! Another beautiful looking steelbook from Lionsgate and excellent 4k quality!

If you're a fan of the game you won't be a fan of the movie. If you know nothing about the game you're not going to be a fan of the movie either. It's a great cast but there's no substance to enjoy here though.
