[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had these for a month and couldn't be happier. The sound quality is fantastic and the added bonus of being able to make phone calls was brilliant. However, if it's slightly windy/busy locations it doesn't work that well whilst on the phone only. When in the office or at home it is crystal clear. A few people made negative comments about the design as if you don't realise they play music they do look a little bulky on the sides but front on for me the design is good. This product got me walking for no reason and even got me going to my local parks gym as I wanted to see if they would be annoying whilst exercising but to be honest they stuck to my face and not at any point was I worried about them falling off, a massive plus. Skipping tracks, pausing and using siri with the button on the side was so simple that everyone got it instantly. Lastly, when up at full volume I literally can't hear someone talking to me when they are stood more than 5 yards away so it does drown out outside noise if you want it too.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I couldn't believe the Alto Style Bose sunglasses/headphones would really work as showed. I've been using them now for around two weeks and was surprised! What a fantastic innovative product! I had already loaded the Bose Connect from the App Store on to my iPhone XS and within seconds I was experiencing such a wonderful Bose experience as the Bluetooth music from my phone was pleasantly all around me. I asked my son if he could hear the music and he said No. He was equally amazed as I continued to be at the quality of the sound the sunglasses put out. I have used them everyday since then and I am absolutely bowled over with the enjoyment I get whilst wearing them whilst shielding the sun from my eyes at the same time. One wonderful feature of the Bose Alto Style sunglasses is that whilst enjoying the music you are fully aware of what is going on around you and easily able to have conversations with others instead as I normally have to do and turn off and take off my current Bluetooth headphones. But most amazingly when I cycle I am also move aware of traffic and sound around so they are in my opinion the first headphones that I know of that keep you safer as well. Generally battery life is very good as on average I have been able to listen to music for around 4 hours on a full charge. I can without any doubt highly recommend the Alto Style glasses as a must have fashion, entertainment and safety accessory.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I currently have Bose Headphones and when I saw these, and wanting something more discreet, This appeared to tick all the boxes. The frames are stylish with a similar wayfarer style, Lenses are interchangeable thus being able to change colour easily and they truly are light, given the fact that they have speakers in both arms...... Lets talk about sound quality, The quality and depth of sound is very good. Don't expect it to be in line with your QC35's as that's not what they are meant to be.... These produce good depth when listening to music and is very good for also listening to podcasts etc. The Volume is sufficient at 80% to be able to clearly hear what your listening comfortably. The app is very easy to navigate and connect, and once initial connection done the first time, the glasses seamlessly connect when you press the little button on the underside of the right arm. Once connected I use Apple Music to stream all my music, I can even use my Apple Watch to control the volume which is a bonus if phone is in the pocket. You can change track by tapping the button on the arm twice and three times and to turn the glasses off, you simply turn the glasses upside down for 5 seconds. It comes in a nice presentation box with charging cable and rigid glasses case, the only omission I would like to have seen is a lens cleaning cloth included. However this is very minor. Overall an amazing set of glasses which produce great sound quality. This was an off the cuff purchase however since owning these my oakley's have been firmly put in a draw......
I am writing this review on the Bose Frames Alto Audio Sunglasses with Bluetooth Connectivity, Black. I love this product! These are so cool. The sound is amazing on these also. As to be expected when you hear the name Bose. Bose makes very high quality products, and these sunglasses are no exception. They fit very comfortably, I like the style, they sound amazing and they were very easy to set up. The Bose app was easy to install and use. I also love that to shut them off you just turn them upside down. They also have skip forward and backwards capability. And to top it off they come with a really nice case to carry them in. I will be using these this weekend while fishing on my boat! I highly recommend these sunglasses!
I always wanted to listen to music while outdoors without wearing earbuds or headphones which for some reason are uncomfortable to me and I was very happy to learn Bose will release this sunglass with embedded little speakers. I got the Alto style which has a more stylish angular look. They came in a nice box and inside there is a caring case, the charging cable which has a proprietary connector (why not USB-C?) that connects to the sunglasses for charging, the other cable end is usb. Little booklet will guide you how to download and install the Bose connect app which will guide you very easy and how to connect the sunglasses to you iOS p Android device, the app is very useful, and it will show you how to operate the sunglasses in regard to turning them on, answering a call- yes they do have a microphone for taking calls or talking to Siri or Google assistant. I really like the gold accents of the hinges and the power button and the fact that the button sticks out and is easy to find while wearing them, the gold accent gives them a very high-end look. The volume of sound they put out is OK and the sound trouble and bass is full with no distortion and the maximum volume, I feel that sometimes I would like them to be loader, for example I tried to mow the lawn with them but I was not able to hear the music because of the mower engine noise, I was kind of disappointed. Overall, I will enjoy them and the UVA/UVB rays protection of the lenses is a great plus for me. I can't wait to wear them more outdoors on bike rides, walks and around town and be able to listen to music or podcasts.
These Bose Sunglasses are exquisite. The Bose brand being synonymous with excellent audio quality is reflected in these shades showing flawless craftsmanship. Having owned other Bose products, although a tad expensive, the sound quality is generally outstanding. There are two frames to choose from. The Alto frames which I received are retro in style, and depending on facial appearance, might seem a tad bulky. The other is the Rondo frame which are the rounded lenses that are classic in style. Included with the sunglasses is a hard plastic case, a small microfiber pouch, and a special use USB charger. The pouch is used to store the USB to keep it from scratching the sunglass when kept in the case. Setup was straightforward and connected via Bluetooth with no issues. Listening to general music while outdoors is great, but if you're looking for deep base you'll probably need your headphones as the bass is not pronounced with these shades. These are not polarized which is great as I need to be able to distinguish certain things while riding which you can't see with polarized glasses. Also, with my work, I'm monitoring LCD displays all day in bright daylight conditions and won't be able to see the different colors if they were polarized. Overall, these Bluetooth Bose shades are unique and are highly recommended.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this product for a few weeks now and the sound this product brings is just awesome and top notch. There is minimal to no leakage from the frames too. Also the fact that the lenses are interchangeable is really good feature as I'm not one for dark lenses. The app to connect is really nice although I would question why it is needed at all. The only thing is the frames are a bit too bulky. This is a personal thing though doesn't remove from the awesomeness of the product. I would really recommend this product. I hope they come in less bulky styles
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Had mine 3 weeks now and I love everything about them . The sound is awesome, they feel good on, look good, except the lenses could be much better! Please give better lens options!!!
Received this Bose Frames Alto Audio Sunglasses with Bluetooth Connectivity, Black recently in a beautiful hard box with a cool hardbound black case with a logo on it and with the magnetic circular button to make the case more secure. The type of style I received is the alto one a squared look designed. The shades tint is not too dark which is just a right blend for me it's not heavy though it has a more prominent or broader hand side frames for Bluetooth batteries and speakers, it still has a gorgeous style. First, you must download the (Bose Connect app) to connect and pair with this device. The quality of the sounds for me is ok don't have enough decent bass on it which I can say is lack of bass impact, but it has excellent quality audio no lags especially on calling or receiving calls and listening through movies. The listening time for music may take about more or less 3 hours, and to fully charged the device takes about 2 hours. It has one button under the right side of the frame to connect like taking a call or skipping the next music track. It also has a voice guide that tells the battery life and who's phone it was connected.
The sound quality I have come to expect from Bose is only the very best. I still remember the first time I heard a Bose system, I couldn't believe my ears. I hadn't heard anything like it up to that point. Now that I'm nearly 40, I grew up with my dad, who was an audiophile, who then passed it on to me. I have had high end systems in my vehicles, I have always had high end surround sound systems in my homes, I'm always among the earliest to adopt the latest tech, and I always do everything myself. So, my opinion of the audio quality of these Bose Alto frames is very good, to a point. Any volume setting up to about 80% has good sound quality, although it has very little bass to speak of. Above 80% volume, the volume gets louder, but the sound quality degrades significantly. I have come to expect an excellent range of sound from even the tiny Bose speakers, but the speakers on these frames do not produce bass well at all. I tested the speakers using a wide range of bass frequencies and it doesn't produce anything well below 80 Hz. You can hear the speakers trying to play the bass notes, but they're not very pronounced. With something like this, it's difficult to gauge what you should be able to expect. I've never owned anything like this before, so maybe it's not reasonable to expect good bass response from speakers that sit out and away from your ears. The highs and mids are still great. Depending on what you're using these frames for will determine how happy you will be with them. In my case, I won't be using them for music often. I will be using them to take calls and to stream audio books and videos from my phone. So in all honesty, even though I wish the bass performed better, it doesn't really affect my listening experience much. If your primary reason for buying these frames is to listen to music and your preferred genre of music is rap, hip hop, R & B or techno styles of music, you might find the sound quality somewhat lacking. The battery life on these frames is underwhelming to say the least. If you're on a long car ride, they could die part way to your destination. For me, battery life is usually around the 3 hour mark before the charge is fully depleted. I don't like having to charge things every time I use them, although many of the devices I use require it, like it or not. I often forget to charge the frames once I've sat them down, then they die after only a short time when I use them the next time. Charge time isn't bad, about 2 hours from dead to full charge. The audio isn't as private as I was led to believe. If you're on the subway or on a bus, anyone within a few feet will be able to hear what you're listening to if you have the volume up above about 40%. It won't be loud for them, unless you have the volume maxed out. But, in order to have a decent volume for yourself, people nearby will probably be able to hear it unless the area you're in has a lot of background noise. The Bose Frames connect to your devices via BlueTooth. The way you interact between your frames and your phone is a single button next to your right temple. The majority of commands are a series of clicks and button holds. There is a built in mic for voice commands to your paired phone or for phone calls. The audio quality from the microphone picks up your voice at a clear and audible level, although having a lot of loud background noise can bleed into your conversation or disrupt your voice commands. The Bose frames have what I would describe as a neo retro style. In my opinion, either design of the Bose frames will be especially suitable for women. At this time there are two styles, Rondo and Alto. Both styles are thick black frames, with oversized arms to house the battery, speaker, mic, controls and accelerometer. As a man, I got the Alto frames. They resemble a traditional style of sunglasses, similar to the style of frames you'd expect to see given to G.I.'s as standard issue during WWII, while being a bit more angled back at the nose piece. The Rondo glasses are a more rounded style like hippie sunglasses from the 60s, but with larger eye pieces and thicker black frames. The lenses have a light tint, nothing too aggressive. They should help block sunlight when driving, but shouldn't be so dark as to diminish your vision come dusk. Although, I wish I could get some interchangeable prescription lenses. The frames do come with a custom case, a charge cable and a cloth bag to hold your cable. The AR feature, or Augmented Reality, does not appeal to me. I tested several of the AR apps for free on the App Store, and they were all strange and for the most part, pointless. There's one game that's supposed to work primarily through head movement and button presses on your Bose frames, but I couldn't get it to work. Many of the apps are supposed to be AR experiences that try to put you in another environment using sound and movement or are meant to be used to help find and give details of nearby places of interest. Most of the apps do what they're meant to do, but aren't useful to me at all. Overall, the Bose Frames are pretty cool, but are far from perfect. With the current price tag, you're paying to be an early adopter. For that much, they should have better battery life. The style depends entirely on personal preference and the AR feature will be useless to most people. The sound quality is good but not great, the max volume is respectable but not impressive. Whether the Bose Frames are something you should buy, is based entirely on what you want to use them for. They're definitely not for everybody. I was very excited to check out these frames, but I'm not in love with them. They didn't meet my expectations, so unfortunately, I am giving them a rating of 3 stars.
